Well, I have now scanned this thread since we're getting the 3rd season. Didn't really want to know that the Master will be back, but so far I'm loving the season. Martha is so better a companion and The Shakespeare Code was one of my favorite episodes:

"57 academics just punched the air..."

"EXPELLIARMUS!"

And the Hex girl as one of the witches...BRILLIANT!

Nah seriously it was in the official Doctor Who magazine, although RTD claims he didn't realise it until afterwards.

He's got a precendent for doing these kinda things as well since Torchwood was an anagram of Doctor Who.

Just read in Doctor Who magazine that the name Mister Saxon was another anagram this time for Master no six.

Did everyone else know that or is it just me?

Delgado, Ainley, Roberts, Pratt, Beevers, and Simm. I'll be darned, he is number six. Never even occurred to me. If that was intentional, it was clever...

VERY MILD SPOILER AHEAD

The first title for an episode from series four of the show has been unveilled and it contains two very mild spoilers.

The title is Planet Of The Ood and it will be written by Keith Temple, one of the newer writers on the series.

This not only means the Ood (one of my all time faves) from Impossible Planet and Satan Pit are returning, but we're actually gonna learn more about them as a society now that they're free from the control of the Beast.

Also it means there's gonna be at least one adventure next year that isn't set on Earth, it will be the Ood's home planet:D

Alien planet maybe, but it'll still be filmed in a bloody quarry in Wales :D

Here's hoping RTD keeps away from the directing reigns a bit more and brings in some of the heavy-hitters, don't know the names, but whomever directed Blink and the Family of Blood 2-parter were definitely keepers.

Great news about the return of the Ood,it means I'll be watching at least 1 episode of series 4 after all. With any luck it won't be the only time an alien planet is visited,95% of episodes since the revival have been on or close to Earth and it's getting f'ing boring.

I think the show is in danger of losing it's focus , due to the revolving door policy regarding it's cast . We need some continuity , not new companions every year or so . Rather than looking forward to stories , fans are spending their time speculating about "who is leaving , who's going to be the new Doctor/companion". This , combined with the "stunt casting" of comedians and celebrities , undermines the good work done in the first 2 seasons. Season 3 began to back-slide, quality wise , in my opinion and therefore season 4 could be make or break for the show . The loss of Martha , for whatever reason , was a bad sign and I hope it's not an indication of the direction the show is heading .

I sometime think that im the only one who thought season 3 was the best so far, i loved it.
Steven Moffat would be an excellant choice to take over Russel T davies, did anybody see the HYDE program by him the last few weeks. I thought that was an excellant story by Moffat and well made by the BBC. Hope there are some more of this kind of thing to fill in for Who aimed at adults.

Let's hope that Nesbitt doesn't take posession of the keys to the tardis. Having the so-called comedienne ( who in my opinion has no talent whatsoever) as the dr's "new assistant" has started to turn me off the show. Shame it was coming along nicely.

I'm telling you , they should have had Sally Sparrow as his assistant.

A few things, Martha is not "off the show". Catherine Tate will not be Donna from the first half the special it will be Donna from the last half. Im giving RTD benifit of the doubt. About the so called "revolving door" policy.. I think Tennant now has the second longest run on Who next to Tom Baker. The thing is, old Who used to be 30 minutes and one continuous arc. New Who is an hr long with an overall arc. Big difference. And Ian, Ive caught Hyde on BBC America and LOVED it, creepy and well executed.

After just seeing Jekyll (was it Hyde in the UK?) I think Moffat and Nesbitt would be excellent choices to take over the Tardial reins. Tennant is great and he and Frema have some good chemistry (I so prefer her over Billie), but if the writing remains good I think anyone could be the Doctor. In fact bring over Jane from "Couples" as a companion - she's great on Jekyll too.

Your right, i could'nt recall if it was Hyde or Jekyll.

Still missing Eccleston myself, he and Billie had the best chemistry yet to me...but....with all this change, I admit to losing some interest. I like Tennant a lot, and think he's had the best single episodes, here and there, so far in ages, so I just wish they would just keep writing good stuff, and keep to a steady diet of quality. If it changes hands production-wise...hmmm...interesting to see what else changes.

If they want the show to last, and it will...as long as there are supposed to be what, 13? lives, there should be some time left. But I sure wouldn't rush a new Doctor if I didn't have to. Seems like things are headed too fast to the end....

Sounds all shakey to me. Hope it works out.
