QMX will be releasing a version of David Tennant's Sonic Screwdriver.. the link doesn't give a price but I PRAY it will be lower than the MFX one.

"Quantum Mechanix Inc. (QMx) announced today that it has signed an agreement with BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) to develop and market a full line of collectibles based on the hit science-fiction television series, Doctor Who.

Premiering in 1963, the venerable British TV series is one of the most recognized entertainment brands in world. Some 31 seasons of Doctor Who have been produced, comprising 767 episodes, making it the longest running science-fiction television series worldwide. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Doctor Who is the "most successful science-fiction television series in the world," based on ratings, DVD and book sales, and iTunes traffic.

After a 20-year hiatus, a revamped Doctor Who was launched in 2005 and is now more popular than ever. Doctor Who is sold to more than 50 territories worldwide with global DVD sales in excess of 3.5 million. And with the successful transition to Matt Smith in the titular role, the latest actor to take on the role of the time-traveling alien, Doctor Who's popularity seemed assured for years to come.

"When people ask us how we determine what shows and movies to license, we tell them first and foremost a show must tell great character-driven stories," said QMx CEO Andy Gore. "And there has never been a greater character than Doctor Who."

QMx's Doctor Who license includes screen-accurate prop replicas, animated maquettes, travel posters and novelties. The company is already hard at work on several products and will have prototypes on display at the QMx booth (#3251) at Comic-Con International 2010 San Diego in July."

and from their prototype pics

That history of the show is wrong, the show was off screens as a full TV series for 16 years not 20 and there was also the TV movie with Paul McGann in 1996 which was only 7 years after McCoy's final series :cuckoo:

If it doesn't break the bank i'd definatley grab one. Be cool to see what other products they create.

An outrageously expensive version of a toy which looks just as good for $25? Awsome.

I've been taking my first look at the McCoy era this week and have watched,

"Time & The Rani" = Awful

"Rememberance of the Daleks" = A decent story that provided Rob Shearman with the ending for 2005's "Dalek".

"The Happiness Patrol" = Awful but I would buy at least 10 Kandyman figures if CO made one.

"Silver Nemesis" = Good in places but there were a few bits that were so bad I almost expected to see RTD's name in the end credits.

So far I like how the 7th Doctor seems to have his own agenda which I gather was something that was going to be explored had the show not been cancelled.

He also seems quite bloodthirsty at times and his farewell to Davros and pleasure at destroying the Cybermen was a marked contrast from other incarnations.

I would have Mel thrown into the same volcano as Donna & Rose but I think Ace is awesome, her attitude and enthusiasm for weapons reminds me of Leela which is never a bad thing :)

Finished watching The Big Bang, so I can finally come back into this thread. :yess:

This season was a mixed bag for me, but the finale was brilliant.

Time and the Rani was pretty slapstick, not the best way to show off a new doctor, and Mel was the worst companion i have seen so far, worse than Kamellion lol. I got a subscription to LoveFilm so i get sent random Who DVD's or i catch the few that are on youtube, i have to admit though sometimes the slow pace that some of the old episodes trundle along at really dont keep my attention for long.

Wife and I finished the season finale and were a bit confused but that seemed like a trend this season, lol.

I do have a simple question though. So was Rory an android all along or only after he was consumed by the crack?

Only after he was consumed by the crack.

The difficult thing about this series finale was that it left some answers for series 6. I'm ok with that.

Unanswered questions are cool.
