Anyone else see the clip on the BBC Advent(ure) Calendar? Apparently the Titanic isn't the one we think it is.

As opposed to the other Titanic ship? I'm confused

Well since the thread says spoilers... in the clip the posted on the Advent Calendar they showed a space liner that I am assuming to be the Titanic that crashes into the TARDIS and not the 1912 ocean liner Titanic.

Huh, that does seem interesting. Only a couple of weeks until it comes out, can't wait.

That means only a couple weeks until I have to stop reading this thread :monkey2

I guess Sci-Fi played a teaser of their 2008 lineup during Tin Man and Doctor Who was included. I guess I can just be happy we'll eventually get it in the States. :chew

Some more information has turned up on the SFX website about the forthcoming season of Doctor Who. No major spoilers but some episode titles have been revealed for both Doctor Who and Torchwood, apparently the Sontarans will appear in episode four.

The bit about Bernard Cribbins character reappearing throughout the year sounds interesting, could he be this year's "Bad Wolf??"

"I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I'm 903 years old, and I'm going to save your life and the lives of the six billion people below."

Man, am I the only one playing with the advent calendar?

Nope, but now that more info is coming out, I'm starting to get a little more sensitive to spoilers. Once "Voyage of the Damned" airs, I'll be staying far away from any Who site (official or otherwise).

I've stayed away from most spoiler info for the series, but (and not to drive you away) soon as it airs (Christmas Day at 6 in the UK... possibly same time next day at my place) I'll be talking up a storm over it. Same goes when the series airs in March. On the upside though the Torchwood thread should be jumping come Jan 28. :lol

Catherine Tate has said in a radio interview in the last week that series 4 will be David Tennant's last. The BBC haven't confirmed this so hopefully it's BS. If you ask me it's a pity she didn't confirm her departure in the same interview.

I doubt they'll keep Donna around for longer than one season to be honest, especially after the luke warm reception from the fans.

If it helps Kabukiman, I'll make sure I post spoiler warnings before discussing any of the plots from the new series in this thread. But I don't think episode titles, castings news and trailers really count as spoilers as such, you could hear about and see those and still enjoy the episodes, I'm sure the BBC haven't shown us all the good stuff for Voyage Of The Damned just yet, cant wait to see it Christmas day:D

That'd be much appreciated, Jabba, thanks! Casting news and episode titles are unavoidable, but something like "Captain Jack is The Face of Boe" would make me a sad panda.

I just hope we don't have to wait all the way until summer to see all the new episodes stateside.

Heard on the radio a couple of days ago that after the next series, Tennent will do 3 one off specials the following year then that's him finished &.....wait for it...Jennifer Saunders will be the Doctor for a one off special...then the next doctor will come in
Maybe a very short spell for a female doctor?

Yeah the BBC have confirmed that after series four there will just be three specials in 2009 all of which will star Tennant. But they haven't confirmed his involvement either way after that, he may be in series five and he may not be.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens but Doctor Who as a show is rife with rumour and speculation. I tend not to believe anything these days until the BBC confirm it, mind you sometimes the rumours can turn out to be true like Kylie Minogue being in the Christmas special or the return of Billie at the end of series 4. So you never really know. Personally though I hope that DT stays through series 5 at least.

Well only twenty four hours or so until Voyage Of The Damned airs in the UK if they do what they've done with the other two Christmas specials there should also be a trailer with clips of the first six episodes from series four on as well.

If the trailer turns up on You Tube I'll post a link to it in this thread so you guys can check it out.

Yea, hopefully it gets uploaded right after it airs, can't wait to see it.

Voyage Of The Damned has now aired in the UK and overall I thought it was very enjoyable, way better than last years pile of Tate (lol!)

The titanic was a space liner, very cool twist.
Cool moment when the angel took the doctor on either side of his arms and flew towards the cockpit and effects on the ship were great, they get keep getting better.
Another comanpion bites the dust.

SPOILER WARNINGS

Having seen Voyage Of The Damned yesterday I've gotta admit I was impressed. I tend to think most of the Christmas specials aren't as good as the series episodes but this one certainly had the epic feel to it and the effects were like a big budget film. Lots of unexpected twists and character deaths during the episode, though I didn't reckon that much to Max Capricorn as a villain and it was obvious he was what was hiding on Deck 31. The Heavenly Hosts were cool monsters though the constant "Information" before they said anything became grating. The slightly altered theme tune was also ok though not as good as the first tune of the new series. Overall a great episode certainly a cut above anything else that was aired in the UK on Christmas day.
