Who said the Master comes back?

I haven't heard that...RTD said he has no plans for The Master this series...

But hopefully the Cybermen will return...

RTD is a notorious liar. He said before he wouldn't use the Master at all and then he turns up. I believe the rumor comes from the fact that they told Simm to keep two weeks open in December around the time they were filming for Who.

I haven't read any of the new posts because I'm avoiding spoilers. I just noticed the thread was active again, so I stopped in to say :woo

I'm just relieved that the proper show is gonna be back on TV as opposed to the piss poor Torchwood. The Sarah Jane Adventures may be a kids show but IMO it's a far better spinoff.

Just rewatched Blink today on BBC America and I will say that it's my favorite episode of the entire series. Great story, great acting, great suspsence, great ending, hot sally sparrow (life is short, and she is so hot) :love. Wish all the episodes were that great.

Pix, you seem to be spending more time over at OG/DWF than myself, was that whole mess about the Doctors daughter ever resolved?

There's already been a montage showing Martha & Rose, and the Judoon as well. The Ood is the obvious one....tbh I'm looking forward to this Saturday and the 1st ep, but I'm not looking forward to Catherine Tate :(

I really don't get why this episode gets so much praise. I don't see the point of having an episode of Doctor Who where the title character makes little more than a cameo role. Maybe if it hadn't followed the utter drivel that was the Family Of Blood/Human Nature 2-part story I wouldn't have been as bored by it but for me it's among the low points of Nu-Who so far.
The "Judoon" seen in the teasers for series 4 are actually Sontarans who appear in a 2-part story in episodes 4 & 5 which will also feature Martha Jones and UNIT. The Sontarans are the latest baddies from the Classic era to be brought back and their leader General Staal will be portrayed by Christopher Ryan who is best known as Mike The Cool Person from classic 80's UK comedy series The Young Ones.

I loved Family of Blood/Human Nature as it got more into the motivations and secret desires of the Doctor more than ever before. And Blink is brilliant because of Sparrow - I dearly wished they'd have done a Nightingale & Sparrow spin-off.

Everything you said was great. Family of Blood/HN showed what the doctor could be and I enjoyed the two-parter a lot. I would watch anything with Sparror in it....

Apparently episode six this year is going to bring big emotional changes for the Doctor as well.

Not sure what, but I read an interview with the writer and he said this episode will have an effect on the Doctor in future stories.

Thats the one supposedly about the Doctor's daughter. :google

One thing I need to say about Torchwood, I HATED it last season and didn't watch more than four episodes. Hated the characters. Hated the stories, and Jack didn't feel like he was being Jack.

A few friends swore to me it got better, so, because Martha was going to be on for a few stories this season (and I LOVE Martha), I started watching again this season and found it a MUCH improved show. Jack was Jack again. The stories were better (and scary. I LOVE "Meat"), and the card board characters became fleshed out and likable, or at least grew personalities. It's worth looking at again, if for no other reason other than it's a Who spin-off that's gotten better. :)

I agree that Torchwood is much better in series 2. I'm now going back through the Eccleston Who's and it's fun seeing the beginnings of Torchwood. And Gwen plays the maid in the Dickens episode and it seems Tosh is in the next one. It's great that Davies developed an ensemble just like Joss did.

I liked Meat too, although it verged on being a "message" show, which they've managed to avoid. But X-Files did that occaisionally and it could be a bit heavy handed. I don't want Torchwood to turn into X-Files.

And although this is a spoiler thread, it's also our main Dr. Who discussion thread. So I'm sure the Yanks and others who want to be Series 4 virgins would appreciate it if there was some indication of spoilers in the post.

Heh heh, come next weekend I think I'll be the biggest offender of the spoiler postings. I'll try and give advance warning Dave, and everyone else. Maybe we can all agree on white text? Or possibly huge spoiler marks? So excited, and can't wait for Partners in Crime.

Looking forward to it, It should be uploaded t Surfthechannel by monday :) So happy i found that site, Waiting for the DVD releases was killing me :)
