Aside from "Victory of the Daleks", "Amy's Choice" and "Vincent & The Doctor" I thought the last series was as forgettable as the previous regime's attempt at Doctor Who and only made watchable by Matt Smith's performance as the Doctor.

Considering the Moffat lovers on the Who fansites were claiming a new Golden Age would occur when he took over I think it's been more than proven that he's RTD version 2.0 especially if he's bringing that useless tub of lard Corden back.

You liked Victory of the Daleks? I dont think Moffat is RTD 2, this season felt a little less forced epic maybe thanks to the budget cuts. I think for his first real go at Who where he isnt working under someone he has made a great start, yeah hit and miss but RTD's first season sucked a lot too (followed by 3+4 and most of 2 :rotfl)

I hope so. There wasn't a single episode last year that I had any signifigant desire to watch again.

You old timers need to lighten up! :lol I ____ing loved last season! And I would watch everyone of them again....Especially the Weeping Angels ep! :rock

Then again...I might be biased cuz he's MY Doctor! :lol

Yes, partially due to the extermination of RTD's Daleks by the awesome looking new ones but I also liked the guy who played Churchill and the bit where the Doctor held off the Daleks with a jammie dodger.

He may be marginally more adept a writer than his predecessor but he's still not written anything worth watching more than once since "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances".

As a producer he's basically carrying on where RTD left off, there's been minimal improvements such as the way the lead is being written but it's still the same old format.

To be honest though Moffat couldnt of made any significant changes right away, already he had a lot of pressure thanks to the massive popularity of the previous regime, this series looks like a different fair especially utilising a series split.
I hated VotD but i loved the Biscuit moment and Smith's 9 like anger face to face with the ironside., in fact i enjoyed the episode up until Bracewell became a robot then it fell to hell.

I can see why the BBC would go with a "if ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude but I was still hoping for more of a change.

Not any more though as having just discovered Corden is in more than 1 story I've decided not to bother with the next series at all as with River Song and possible Jenny being in it I'll end up skipping more stories than I'll watch.

I have an MP3 player full of Big Finish audios sitting in front of my PC waiting to be transferred to CD so it seems like a perfect opportunity to do that instead of wasting any more time with the modern show.

I was watching the 'Key to Time' series, Mary Tamm was beautiful back in the day and really underrated i thought she seemed regal and very well educated as i would expect a time lady to be.

I saw a rumour Jenny was recast and coming back but nothing confirmed, she was nothing more than eye candy in a mediocre story. I want to see who River ends up as since she doesnt annoy me as much as she does some people. Corden however is a total waste of time a cruddy actor, horrific 'comedian' and seems to be everywhere despite doing nothing of value. Is David Walliams still in cast? he's another i despise it seems this years Who is banging on for guest stars.

Lastly a hope for the series, i hope Amy either leaves or dies. Rory died twice last year but he doesnt annoy me as much as she does, they dont suit being married one bit and after watching 'Earthshock' an Adric style goodbye is needed and Amy is a great choice to take the bullet. :lol

I think Mary Tamm is by far the best incarnation of Romana yet for some reason Lalla Ward seems to be more popular among the fandom :dunno

As for the new series I've no idea on whether Walliams is in it or not. I can see it happening due to the fact he's another "name" as that kind of thing seems more important to the production team than actually making good stories.

Weird. I thought the only thing working against The Doctor's Daughter was the pacing. It was too quick. It felt like an old Hinchcliffe era story that was rushed way too fast to me. That was my only bone to pick with that one.

I liked the prequal, eerie with its ominous atmosphere. I did expect the "are you my mummy?" line though indeed....

I was actually fine with the kid. Then grey silent in the background was creepy too. What put me off was the crappy Nixon impression and the terrible American accent.

Bad American accents are one thing the modern show has in common with the Classic era.....the rocket crew members in "Tomb of the Cybermen" for example.
