My favorite part of that clip was Nixon delivering the "There are no monsters in the oval office." line. That was a sharp little piece of dialogue.

Decided to go back and watch through 9's series, obviously skipping those episodes. I had forgotten how good Chris was as the Doctor despite the trashy episodes he had to battle against, he wasnt as angry as i remembered him to be instead being quite quirky and funny. The prequel made me want to watch the 'Empty Child' again and im glad i did, its wonderfully dark with a very different feel than the rest of the series was and Captain Jack was a very likable guy. On the point of Jack who was revealed to be The face of Boe in the episode 'The Long Game' the Face of Boe is revealed to be pregnant...not sure i want to know how :rotfl

AGREED. I've never understood all of the love for Lalla Ward. Plus, Romana's regeneration was... odd.

She was great in "City of Death" but other than that I found her a bit like River Song......she had this smug "I know stuff you don't" attitude that wasn't very likeable.

Mary Tamm's version of Romana started off with a similar air of superiority but it quickly vanished once she got out into the galaxy and realised she didn't know as much as she thought..........River just needs slapping. With a brick.

I'm not sure what the thinking was behind that regeneration aside from an attempt at comedy....which didn't really work.

N2k,
I think Eccleston definitely had "it" but he never really got to shine because he was either shoved into the background in favor of Billie Piper or because the modern format doesn't allow anyone to really show off anything but their ability to rush around a lot.

SFX has the title of the Neil Gaiman episode, i dont post on any other forum so every has proberly seen it already but oh well...
I quite like the sound of it, has an air of mystery of what it might be about :lol
I'm very excited the closer we get to the new series, though im not super hyped about the guest 'stars'

Also coming soon, "The Doctor's Brother", "The Doctor's Aunt", "The Doctor's Third Cousin Twice Removed", "The Doctor's Cat" & "The Doctor's Other Relatives He Never Talks About"

I don't give a flying _____k about his relatives, he's supposed to be a man of mystery.

:lol Is she gonna drag him back inside for a cooked meal and a cuddle for a soap marathon? :lol Its a lazy speculative title designed to get some interest i guess...

Currently rewatching the Pirate Planet, that pirate is uber-cool i'd love a figure of him and his parrot.

With any luck it'll be as misleading a title as "The Next Doctor" or "The Doctor's Daughter".

I also think that if they're really going to go there the chances of his wife being River are minimal because all the hints so far have been too blatant even by Nu-Who plot standards..........she's not in that episode which is a good sign.

I think "The Pirate Planet" is great, I'm torn between that and "The Ribos Operation" as my favorite of the "Key To Time" series.

A figure of the Captain & his parrot would be awesome but at the moment we're more likely to get another Dalek set from CO.

I watched "Destiny of the Daleks" again last night and as ever had to wonder whether Terry Nation phoned it in because after "Genesis of the Daleks" it was poor.

I think the Douglas Adams influenced humor should have been severely toned down as Romana's regeneration was a real WTF? moment and the bit where the Doctor was pushing Davros around like he was on a supermarket trolley dash was ludicrous.

I also think Davros shouldn't have been brought back until Michael Wisher was available because David Gooderson didn't have the same venom in his voice.

Other observations,

The Daleks looked liked they'd been left in storage too long and nobody bothered sprucing them up. If the ones in the forthcoming
CO set have really bad paint apps and a coating of dust they'll actually be screen accurate.

The Movellan hand weapons looked.........disturbing.

The wall the Daleks crashed through at the end of part 1 was clearly cardboard although the sound effect was something more solid :lol

Romana II was a bit of a wimp when the Daleks were interrogating her.

The Doctor was reading a book mentioned in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" whilst trapped under the column.

I haven't seen that episode fully I have only seen the You-tube parts of her 'regeneration' but I do love the "Oh look rocks!" exclamation from Tom. I really don't like Daleks and I think their moment of most feared, most bad-ass Who villain has long since past now offering only a roll of the eyes when appearing on screen rather than any fear. Perhaps the Daleks could be reinvented by doing something really evil and shock worthy like shooting Amy in the face...or River reveals shes a Dalek after Rory spots a pair of shiny balls under her dress while stood under the glass floor in the tardis.

I am stocking up on Classic DVD's but its a bit wearing on my bank account, only one I regret buying is Delta and the Bannerman while im glad I purchased the Aztec's and the Time Meddler, oh and Earth shock its the first episode since 'Tomb' that i didn't hate the Cybermen.

Destiny's Target novelization is wonderful, so I can forgive the cheapness of the actual serial version.

The Neil Gaiman penned episode could be called "The Doctor's Gay Love Triangle With Captain Jack and The Master" and I'd still be just as excited for it.

Considering my penchant for spoilers I am surprisingly (and relatively) spoiler free going into this season. :rock

I can only imagine the complaints BBC would recieve on that one :lol

With exception of the two titles and the brief coming soon trailer i have had nothing spoiled or even revealed, its been better with having no information then a cool little prequel video and little teaser spots appear. Im excited to see what Moffat can do now he has full established characters, two running plot points and has a full series under his belt, I enjoyed 10/13 episodes last series which is bloody good and i'm betting he can deliver another great run.

Sorry but if you think this coming series looks daft... than I am speechless:

Or you merely have an opinion which differs from mine. ;)

I was most imtrigued by this screen cap:
