From what I can gleam, no weirdly enough.

It has more to do with somebody's unborn child. After that It gets all very confusing

Bring back RTD, all is forgiven! :lol

Actually scratch that, can we just get Philip Hinchcliffe back for one last job?

There's possibly going to be a press release this week announcing the return of........................Mondasian Cybermen :yess:

I don't suppose they'll be that different in appearance to the Cybusmen but it'll still be nice to have them back although I'll have to wait until the next time they appear as the episodes they're in this year have James Corden in them

I heard they are the same costumes only with the C chest logo removed and a few minor helmet differences. I wish they would just reboot the cybermen. I want nothing left over from the Cybusmen.

I don't understand the fixation with the # of lives thing. Wouldn't it be easier to just make up an explanation than to water down your main character? Its not like the # of lives thing is mentioned every episode or anything. Would die hard fans actually complain that their favorite show changed the randomly chosen abitrary number?

OBVIOUSLY, it wasn't conceivable back in the 60s or 70s that a show would continue for 30 years. I'm pretty sure people would forgive the change.

I would just be happy when the Cybermen lose the silly forced catchphrase. Shame they return with Corden, how many episodes is that talentless waste starring in? I really dislike the man and it's such a shame they gave him a return, id rather see Rose :lol

I think he's in the last 2 episodes of this year's series......bugger :(

I notice Americans aren't really that bothered by him since the only thing most Who fans here know him from is Doctor Who and that's it. I guess whatever the other show he is in brings strong associations to the Brit audience. I liked his appearance and the story he was in.

There seems to be a thing in the UK where any new face who shows a little promise (in this case im not sure what they saw) is pushed at unbelievable lengths and appears on almost everything from chat shows to sitcoms to music number ones to movies and ridiculous amounts of merchandise for all. At the moment its hard to look anywhere without seeing his stupid face staring back at you which was the same problem with Catherine Tate for many.

:exactly:

Like Tate he's someone who makes me leave the room if he's on the screen and it sucks that he's going to be in the episodes I most wanted to see.

I dont hate the look of the current Cybusmen all that much, the flares are a little camp but they do have an imposing feel to them. I'd like them to be far more talkative without sounding like moron robots that couldn't outwit the average kettle, bring back guns too the arm zapper and the odd little laser that appears is a little weak.

Rewatched series 5 last night for the supposed instances of the Silence, they make sense and if they are for the reason intended its very cool writing by Moffat. Also made the mistake of re-watching Family of Blood which i enjoy mostly up until the Doctor dumps all over Martha despite all she had done.

That makes total sense. I can see how that would take you out of an episode. Glad to be here then. :lol

I think those alleged cases of the Silents being in the previous series are people seeing things that aren't there as a result of overanalysing every little moment of every episode ( not referring to you btw )

I can see an egotistical prick like Moffat claiming he meant to do it but I reckon those moments can be explained easily enough within the context of that particular episode, not everything has to have a hidden meaning or be part of a greater picture.

I dunno, the overanalyzing kind of kind of paid off with "Flesh and Stone": What seemed to be a continuity error with The Doctor not wearing his coat, and then suddenly having it again, proved to be intentional after "The Big Bang" aired.

I saw a note on Facebook that the premier was being shown in New York City tonight. It's going to be rough steering clear of spoilers the next 2 weeks. :monkey4

I honestly can't remember that much about the last series so I'll have to take your word for it.

I've just found a link to what appear to be some Top Trumps cards for the new series which contains info that more or less confirms the identity of the person in the spacesuit and why the character that dies doesn't actually die,

https://www.spoilertv.co.uk/images/Doctor Who/Season 6/Misc Photos/Doctor Who Cards/

Cool find. I didn't see anything that explains why the person who dies doesn't actually die though. :dunno

( Takes deep breath )

The person who dies is a future incarnation although the other characters don't know that yet.

So if the present day incarnation of that person dies early on in the first episode that individual can't be around in the future to travel back to the time of the first episode..........I think.

I'm stopping there because my head is starting to hurt :lol

Forgot to post this!,

January 2012 sees the release of a 5 disc Big Finish set called "Doctor Who Lost Stories:The 4th Doctor" starring Tom Baker as the Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela :clap:clap:clap

One story is called "The Foe From the Future" and was originally written for the TV series in 1977 only writer Robert Banks Stewart abandoned it when he was offered a job with ITV and it was replaced in the schedule by the Robert Holmes masterpiece "The Talons of Weng-Chiang".

The story starts with the Doctor and Leela arriving on Earth circa 1977 where they find news of ghostly figures appearing...............

Bring it ON!

I thought the same but with nothing to do on a boring sunday afternoon i decided to find out, there are a few that are iffy moments that i discounted but a few that in the context of forgetting what they saw work quite well and appear to be intentional for that purpose. I would like it to be intentional since it took this long for me to even notice, a nice contrast from RTD's style of blasting 'Bad Wolf' or 'Saxon' in every episode.
