It was ok.

..but the dad was a bit of an idiot, i can't believe he believed the doctor so easily after his "monster are real" speech.!

These are the first covers in what will be a total of 8 new adventures with the 4th Doctor & Leela.

Tom is also recording 7 adventures with Mary Tamm ( Romana ).

Where are these available? i would like to start listening to the audio stuff especially with Tom back in the saddle...

Was it just me or was the episode kind of...bad? Kind of Fear Her level of bad?

I actually disliked the episode, unlike last weeks episodes fault of being too fast this episode was so slow! nothing really happened either, while the dolls were freaky there was no real threat. 25 minutes to get into the doll world then a bit of a fumble until the last 5 minutes where it was solved RTD style. The concept felt very much like 'Fear Her' too which is proberly why it kinda sucked :lol

I actually thought the episode was very good. The acting was better than the story perhaps. All the acting was actually very good which is quite rare for a Who episode. Matt Smith was very funny as opposed to just manic. The door to door was funny . I LOL when the the dad read the psycic paper and the Doctor's expression like "oh yeah, thats me".

Here's a link to Big Finish's Doctor Who section,
https://bigfinish.com/doctor-who

The Fourth Doctor Series 1 is out in January and consists of 6 hour long adventures ( including the two I posted the covers for ) and will be £60 for the set or £10.99 each.

The Lost Adventures:The Fourth Doctor is also out in January and consists of 2 stories that were originally intended for the TV show when Tom was still in it. They have a total running time of 300 minutes spread over 5 discs which will cost £55.

Both series star Tom Baker as the Doctor & Louise Jameson as Leela....my favorite duo :yess:

The second series is set to have 7 hour long adventures with Tom as the Doctor and Mary Tamm as Romana but there's no further info on those just yet.

You may also be intrested in the following 6 part series Tom has done for BBC Audiobooks in the last couple of years,

"Hornet's Nest" ( 2009 )
"Demon Quest" ( 2010 )
"Serpent Crest" ( out later this year )

I have the first of those and although Tom sounds slightly rusty early on it's like he's never been away by the end.

The style of the BBC ones is different to the full cast stories from Big Finish as they mostly consist of the Doctor recalling his most recent adventure to someone ( Captain Mike Yates in the first one ) which took a bit of getting used to but at the end of the day it was new material from my favorite Doctor so I still liked it a lot.

Each part is available for about £6-£7 on Amazon so they're a bit cheaper than the BF ones, just don't expect a full on story in the traditional fashion and you should enjoy them.

With all that lot to look forward to plus a whole host of other BF stories with various other Doctors & companions I'm intrested in the decision to stop bothering with the Amy Pond & River Song Show isn't one I'm regretting in the slightest :)

Thank you, il take a look since the pricing is pretty reasonable considering the awesome your getting lol

I'm hoping the series is the last of the Amy, Rory and Baby arc it just isn't working. A great premise of having to battle to get her child back yet the problem with having different writers on the show is they dont write in the same sentiment for them causing it to seem like they just dont care. At the end of this 'episode' the Doctor asks amy where she wants to go and she doesnt mind, rather just taking a lucky gamble... surely getting Mel's/River/Melody back is the maximum priority since shes in the hands of captain eye-patch? Rory went from badass Hitler puncher back to the wimpy series 5 Rory in the span of one episode, the many arcs dont work at the moment since they are only really concentrating on the Doctors death when we are still trying to find out what the Silence is, where melody is, how they took Amy, the little girls regeneration and why the Tardis exploded.

No problem! I'll certainly get my money's worth.

The last Nu-Who episode I watched was "The Rebel Flesh" and I just can't be bothered with it any more.

I think Matt Smith has the ability to be a great Doctor but seems to be suffering the same fate as Eccleston where the companions are made to be the focal point and I'm not remotely intrested in any of them.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was properly creepy. My oldest son was hiding behind a blanket for parts of it even. :lol

(I also liked the geek-nod to Seven Keys To Doomsday :rock)

I liked it. I thought as filler episodes go It did the trick, although I may be a wee bit biased as it was one of my mates who made the 'dollies'.

Hmmmm Judging by your two comparisons bcm has got to be in conflict about this episode. :lol

Not in the slightest.

"The Rebel Flesh" was the last Nu-Who episode I will ever watch. Period.

In my eyes it is deader than the parrot in the Monty Python sketch :lol

My new series starts in January via Big Finish and in the meantime I have a few more Classic DVD's to enjoy including,

"Day of the Daleks:Special Edition" ( arrived in the post yesterday )

"Colony in Space" ( out at the beginning of October )

"Revisitations" volume 3 ( out by the end of the year )

Fair enough and i'm glad your happy with your classics( i will watch them sometime i promise!;)) but you missed out on a great episode!

Arthur Darvill was on the best form i've seen him in since his character was introduced, he shown that he can be more than a comedy side kick role and i did feel teary at those closing 10 minutes. I felt a little negative towards the Doctor which shocked me a little at his actions, it felt once again very alien and a little calous which i really adored. fantastic episode...
