It was an ok episode, very chatty though with a lot more focus on dialogue and tea drinking. The Minotaur looked pretty shoddy to me, it just looked like a fake suit, not as bad as the gorilla outfit though that was pretty laughable!

I really enjoyed the end, if thieves goodbye for regular Amy and Rory it was a refreshing way to end the journey, all the other comanions in nuwho had to be exited in emotional ends. Just a simple goodbye with presents.

The arcs the series have been treated poorly, too many at once and dropped without cause, I can't imagine any parent who would just feel fine no saving their child right away as top priority, no matter who she grows up to be. They either should drop them or focus on one thing, its pretty clear they can't do all at once.

I get the sense that showing Amy and Rory growing up with Mels was meant by the writers to be the equivalent of them finding their baby. I think that's as much resoultion as that particular plot point is going to get.

I suspect you're right. They should probably get a parent or two on the writing team.

I didn't see that at all,The Doctor leaving Amy & Rory like that.
As for the Doctor's room, did he say "Of course it is" or did he say
"of course he is"?

I thought it must of been himself, after traveling the galaxy for 900+ years and beating everything that stood in his path, whats left to be fearfull of except his underlying rage and dark feelings? Or just that picture of Katy Manning and the Dalek about to be taken.....

The first guest star for the Christmas Special has been announced and it's Bill Bailey!

He's one of my favorite standup comedians and a decent comedy actor.

I still have no intrest in watching the episode :lol

It was in one of the audio dramas with Paul Mcgann, where someone asks him what he fears more than anything else. and he not only tells them he shows them.
He's afraid of himself. Of loosing control and becoming a monster capable of unleashing untold terrors upon the universe he so loves.

So I'll agree. He saw himself.

I was very bitter towards "The Lodger" last year, mostly aimed at James Corden, but I really loved "Closing Time" It was great to see the doctor going at traveling alone, trying to have friends and not get involved in an adventure. The ending was a bit naff but the resolution served only as a point for Cordens dad character so I didn't mind. Matt was brilliantly funny, quirky and geuinly on the ball in the episode.

Closing Time was ok. Matt was on his game and there were some genuinely funny moments, but it was total filler, and the Cybermen, my favorite baddies, were a poorly used mcguffin. Plus, the whole lamenting his death thing felt like a condensed rehash of Tennant's final stories.

Yeah I agree. I did think though Smith gave a wonderful performance, although I was never keen on James Corden. he has a tendency to get on my nerves somewhat.

My mate has just come back from Cardiff after spending time doing a night shoot on the Christmas special. He ended up working on scenes involving Bill Bailey which apparently was fun.

Even at one in the morning in the middle of a forest a small group of fans had turned up to watch the proceedings.

Loved the last episode, Matt was great as always ..I like how his version of the Doctor is great around the kids (Toy store, wedding dance), it's amazing how he can be so child like and fun and yet be so old a wise.

Now that we know river is the one in the spacesuit at the start of the season ( no surprise there), i soppose the big question is, how's he going to get out of it now?

I was thinking the SAME thing. During the premiere, it was said that The Doctor was traveling alone for quite some time before he died (can't remember how many years).......that was quite the amount of time they jumped between episodes LoL

Im worried the finale's going to suffer from pacing issues, Lets Kill Hitler moved along at lightning speed with half as much storys to tie up as this coming episode. With so much to reveal and only 45 minutes to tell it in how is it going to come across? Unless Moffat does what he did last year and leave it until next year to finish up which i hope is not the case.
