The kid and the monsters was almost as bad as a Baker era Who show.

But the Girl Who Waited really showed Karen G off as an actress - and was also a good show for Rory. Although the plot device that created the situation was kind of lame.

Fair enough and i'm glad your happy with your classics( i will watch them sometime i promise!;)) but you missed out on a great episode!

I've given Nu-Who several "last" chances before but this time there's no way I'll change my mind as I believe it's beyond the capacity of BBC Wales to make a version of the show that I'd consider worthy of the Doctor Who name.

The Matt Smith era initially seemed OK but I think I only thought that because it was somewhat fresh in terms of the cast but on the whole the new production team has for me been considerably worse than the previous one.

Like the 9th Doctor in series 1 the 11th incarnation is often reduced to the status of a sidekick at the expense of the companions....the show is called "Doctor Who" but it's not about him any more which makes me question whether they should just get rid of the character altogether.

The arc heavy storytelling style that Moffat has used combined with the 1000mph pace means most of the stories come across as an incoherent mess and I'm just not intrested in that style.

I hope others continue to enjoy it.

My favourite 11th episodes so far:
Eleventh hour
Victory of the Daleks
Impossible Astronaut
Vincent and the doctor
Amy's choice
A good man goes to war
Day of the moon
The big bang
The Doctor's Wife
I havent seen yet night terrors and the girl who waited

So what's the verdict on the god complex?

I thought is was pretty good, I wonder how long the doc will be without Amy and Rory, he can't really take them back anytime soon after that "standing over your grave" chat with Amy.
..however he could continue traveling with Rory, he has unlimited lives!.

Well there are only 2 more episodes left, so probably not too long without them :lol

I enjoyed the episode very much. I am wondering what was in the doctor's "room" when he said "of course it is."

Probably something to do with not saving people from their deaths or something along those lines.

Next week's episode with Craig and Sophie back should be interesting

Himself I would imagine.

The companions could be gone for some of the next season, ya hear that bcm!? :lol

Still not enough to tempt me back :lol

To even consider it I'd require the following,

1.Steven Moffat, Karen Gillan, Alex Kingston, Arthur Darvill & Murray Gold to be fired....from a cannon :lol

2.A format change to entirely 2 or 3 part standalone stories.

3.The hiring of more established writers from outside the clique of writers that got their start on Who novels and audios in the 90's.

Neil Gaiman, Simon Nye & Richard Curtis wrote the best 3 modern episodes and it's no coincidence that all have had big success outside of Who.

All of the above won't happen but that's OK with me. I'm about to make some cash from selling my CO collection which will help fund all of Tom's new audios....which are the only new Doctor Who stories I need.

I thought it was River. The "Praise Him" kinda sounded like her, and the whole "Do Not Disturb" business. It was River.

I liked the episode for the most part. The only thing I didn't like was the end. I love the 10th Doctor, he's my fave, but please keep 10 out of my 11, thank you very much. :peace

Finally watched The God Complex. My thoughts:

I am annoyed that The Doctor's death wasn't referenced. If it was, then I missed it. It's like the two main plot points of series 6.0 have been totally lost in 6.5. Amy and Rory are no longer concerned for the Doctor's death, which they witnessed, and never mind we never got our baby back, the Doc gave us a house and a car. :woo

I liked the episode on it's own though. 8/10

This season definitely makes a good case for ending the "series arc" which has dominated Nu-Who and returning to quality stand-alone stories. Also the series needs to be dominated by 2 parters.
