I just hope the answer to why the Silence blew the tardis up and how is revealed, its been bugging me since 'The Big Bang'!

Does anyone feel like this wont be the end of River's run? i was hoping for a little while after this series her character arc will be complete and the Doctor can move on without his Time Stalker, however i feel like Moffat loves his creation a bit too much to bow her out totally.

The finale was pretty good.:)

The thought of the Doctor actually being the robot when he was killed crossed my mind, but I ruled that out due to the fact he regenerated ..so i guess the robot can pull of a flawless regeneration effect!?..hmmm?

The finale was awesome!
The fact that the Doctor didn't die and it was one of those robots. I thought it might have been one of those living flesh monsters myself.
Can't wait for Christmas 2011!:gah:

I've stopped even trying to make sense of the River Song timeline, it's just way too convoluted. I found the finale enjoyable but anti-climactic, but then again it was destined to be since we all knew the Doctor wasn't really going to die.

An extra disc has been added to the Lost Stories set which will contain outakes, alternate scenes and interviews including an in depth one with Tom where he discusses his decision to finally sign with Big Finish :yess:

I liked the finale, but I think I've taken about as much Moffat as I can at this point. As good as the cast, music, and many of the scenes are, the overall convolution and self-contradiction is really starting to wear on me. :(

A great finale, a nice nod to the brig too which I thought was a worthy end of his character in the Who universe. It got complicated or confusing in areas but worth a second or third viewing to soak in. I felt like slapping my forehead at the ending, insuring on the obvious ganger answer. And could the ultimate question been anything else? That was destined to be used. The doctors back on the lo-key away from the days of being god like.

A friend told me about the nod to the Brig which I was suprised at because I was under the impression that Moffat dislikes everything associated with the Classic era that's not named Peter Davison.

TOTALLY saw how the doctor was going to survive in about 5 seconds, that wasn't too surprising. Amy looked in fine form, so I have nothing to complain about

I was too focused on the Ganger approach to consider anything else, i had a bet with the other half on the outcome and that was what i was going with... tough loss for me! usually i'd be pretty spot on but i felt like a moron when i overlooked the obvious! :slap

Watching it again last night i really enjoyed it, i think i enjoyed 'The Big Bang' a little more but this was by no means a poor episode.

I think my only beef is that I was hoping to be done with Amy and Rory after "The God Complex." It kind of looks like they will still be around to some extent.
They are my least favorite companions since the show started back up in 2005. There is something really painful about those two. Their relationship with each other and hers with the doctor seems to be about everyone feeling obligated to each other because they sat around and waited. Having relationships by default almost seems like they are together because they just happened to be around each other their whole lives and they don't know how to do anything different. I'm also kind of afraid that Amy beats Rory when no one is looking.

:goodpost::rotfl

I am tired of Amy and Rory. I rather Doctor do a little alone traveling for a bit that includes no River Song,Amy or Rory. Just the Doctor & his Tardis roaming space and time.

I don't mind Amy and Rory, but I think the problem is that they've been such a major part of the story, even more than Rose was it seems. They really need to do a season of the Doctor and a companion (or two) just traveling and having adventures and the companions not be the focus of the plot. That's what I liked about 10 and Donna, that series just felt like the Doctor and a companion traveling, getting into trouble and having a good time.

I kind of have a hard time with how they are making the Doctor pretty much a god like character. The first question in the universe was "Doctor who?" That seems a bit crossing the line from making a cool character to aggrandizing the character just because you can.

I feel Moffat is doing the opposite, trying to dumb down the Demi-God image RTD issued the Doctor especially during series 3. The oldest question in the universe did seem to go against that, adding only another unnessecary plot point to try and follow but the Doctors speech to Dorium about becoming too noisy & noticed and that its time to step back into the shadows seems to show Moff's desire to go back to the days of old when the Doctor wasn't a universally famous person.
Wiki'ed
"the Doctor takes Dorium's head back to where it was stored; the Doctor explains that his perceived death will enable him to be forgotten"

I hope next series has hardly any Amy or Rory, i did like him visiting Craig to make a change and seeing Amy and Rory in the shop but not wanting to inturupt, i'd like to see a series where the companion isn't set in stone, more like visitors he takes on trips if he's lonely.
The companions just appear to be an excuse to get the Doctor into an adventure rathe rthan him finding an adventure and having the companion share it, he has to always save someone which leads me into my most hated part of the new regime, the need to kill everybody to create an impact. Please in the next series find a new way of writing some drama without everyone popping off every other episode.

Amy's Choice - Rory Dies (ish)
Cold Blood - Rory Dies
The Pandorica Opens - Amy Dies (mostly)
The Impossible Astronaut - The Doctor Dies
Curse Of The Filler Episode - Rory Dies (ish)
The Doctor's Wife - Rory Dies (trick)
Lets Kill Hitler - The Doctor Dies
Night Terrors - Amy gets tunred into a Doll, but no one cared
Wedding Of River Song - Well, not really....
