That Christmas episode was dreadful. I've hit the wall with Moffat's magical, Harry Potter, fairytale storytelling. I used to cirticize the 10th Doctor for being too magical, but 11 would give Gandalf a run for his money. The Doctor is just a straight up wizard/angel now.

I find myself wishing Moffat would leave Who and go make more Sherlock instead. That series was brilliant.

I agree completely. Im sick of this magical stuff that makes no sense. Especially combined with this new "wacky" tone that has gone far past anything RTD ever did. Makes it lmost impossible to connect to the characters. Feels like a really bad ripoff of Tim Burton. Doctor Who has always been sci-fi and Moffat has destroyed that in less than 2 years.

Im also sick of plotlines that dont make any sense until 5 years down the line. I still have no clue what "The Big Bang" was all about and probably won't for years.

I will agree that the Doctor seems to be a angel/wizard (which is a hilarious comparison), BUT, Smith is so good in the role, he always seems to pull it off.

:exactly: He really is! as ridiculous as the Doctor is getting Smith is still a joy to watch playing him!

I would watch him run around reading the dictionary....he just makes it so intense, hilarious, playful, and exciting all at the same time.

BUT....at the very beginning...the doctor floating through space without a Tardis, without a Spacesuit, nothing....he would be dead.

Unfortunately, I have to join those giving the thumbs down to the Christmas episode. :monkey2 "A Christmas Carol" was my fave special, and since that was a Moffat episode, I expected to at least *like* this more recent one.

Loved the music, as always, but the story just really rubbed me the wrong way.
