Wow! this episode really had it all,Catherine Tate doing a bad David Tennant impersonation,Davros Palpatine complete with lightning & Death Star, the obligatory Captain Jack "death",Rose finally getting what she wanted and a complete copout as regards killing anybody off outright.
I've not liked all of Steven Moffat's Doctor Who stories to date but I reckon he'll do far better than the garbage RTD has delivered particularly this season which has been terrible.

Loved it! Very fitting and made the entire last 4 series seem like one giant story. Again, no spoilers from me. Not even tags. If you like DT, RTD and enjoyed what has come so far you should love the ending.

fantastic! Give us more!
I would love to see a big budget movie made with this cast, esspecially David Tenant as the doctor!!!

But this actually blows a lot of big budget stuff out of the water already so if it aint broke etc....

D:chew

It totally blows my mind that this show isn't on a regular US network (and, thus, a bigger budget). It has the best writing of any show out there, the most interesting characters, talented actors, and the best music of any current show. The only thing missing is the best effects.

I'd say a movie would be the perfect way to put a spotlight on Who for US audiences, but they kinda tried that already, didn't they? Well they didn't do it right.

I just cannot, for the life of me, figure out how a country that couldn't get enough of Star Trek TNG, or the X-Files, barely knows Doctor Who exists.

Madness...

I liked it. My son also enjoyed it immensely. I thought it tied everything up nicely and it will be interesting to see the new series start from scratch again. I loved how the Doctor compared
the Doctor 2.0 to the ninth Doctor. I totally agreed with that. "Born in the blood of war" Isn't that how he put it?
My other son was too tired to stay up and watch it so it will give us an excuse to watch it again Sunday.

Was really expecting the regeneration to have something to do with the hand keeping the doctor looking the same.

I really liked managed to get all the characters in ther i thought and thought it was cool when they were all piloting the tardis.

Im thinking Davros will be back again but maybe they should give the daleks 2/3 years until thy return.

Thought the daleks talking in german was funny, at first i was like "no! the tv broke during the only series i watch!"

Torchwood will have 2 new member, the doctor is alone again and sad which give Moffat a nice new start and the cybermen in victorian times for christmas.

I was the SAME way with the german speaking daleks. I was like: "german chasing and killing people, sound familar"

Here's a question, what happened to the Rhino guys.....?

The part with doctor/rose talking to gwen about the rift was hilarious. does seem like martha and mickey will be joining torchwood, which isn't a bad thing (i still haven't watched the whole 2nd season of that show).

with the donna shown at the end of the episode, it really goes to show how much her character changed in only 13 episodes. she kinda grew on me (even if it was like a disease).

was sad to see the doctor again, but with moffat running it, I can't wait for it. Will give RTD props, with this season (overall) IMO being the worst of the 4 (which doesn't mean bad, but not as great as the other three) he really ended it well. Kudos good sir :duff

With moffat taking over, how do you top trying to take over and destroy reality? :lol:lol Can't wait to see what he comes up with, he's got his work cut out for him

US television already has more than it's share of shows that are all style over substance so maybe the big networks won't touch Nu-Who for the simple reason it'd just be more of the same.
It's no small coincidence that the letters "RTD" are part of the word "retard" and could also stand for "Ruined The Doctor" as IMO he's taken the franchise to something approaching rock bottom.
Last year he reduced The Master to a totally unconvincing comedy villain and this year Davros ends up a blatant clone of Palpatine circa ROTJ with a bit of Terry Molloy's crappy 80's portrayal of the character mixed in for good measure whilst David Tennant continues to work towards the title of "most boring Doctor" with consumate ease.
Even a writer of Steven Moffat's alleged ability will have a job turning things round and as far as I'm concerned the show could disappear from screens for another 16 years like it did before and I wouldn't give a crap.

FANTASTIC!
That fianle had it all!
I can't wait for the new season to start again in 2010.
In the meantime we can see Martha & Mickey on Torchwood.
:chew

Great finale! Enjoyed both parts. So...now where does it all go???

Hopefully in a more positive direction than the last 2 series. The Cybermen are back for the Christmas special but after that who knows?
The one positive thing I took from Journey's End was the fact that Martha and possibly Mickey look like they'll be the new members of the Torchwood team.
I like them both and it'll mean the show at long last has some characters other than Jack that are worth watching.

Apart for dear old Donna's part, on the whole I thought the whole thing was pretty awful.

Hurry up Moffat, we need you! :lol

utterly fantastic. Great writing, brilliant laugh out loud comedy moments, edge of the seat drama, powerful emotion, and some of the best TV music around.

Some people seem to be complaining about how Russel T Davies has dragged Doctor Who to its lowest ever... and yet it's enjoying the largest ratings, and biggest popularity in it's entire history..... somebody is wrong.

I will miss Donna... she did some absolutely fantastic, and REAL acting..... emotion and believability whwn it was called for, and and click-of-the-fingers turn into comedy what that was needed.

Brilliant stuff.... bring on the Christmas special. :rock

Here come the spoiler tags as I just finished watching Journey's End for a second time.

The first time through I got all teary (yea, yea) with the resolution of the Doctor/Rose story but the second time through I took in more of Catherine Tate's performance and it was brilliant. Just the complete 180 from who she was to who she became and then losing it all was amazing. Also when she knew that she would have to go back to how she was before the Doctor, and the look on her face, in her eyes, it was just heartbreaking and touched me far more than the Doctor/Rose parts. And say what you want about Davros being like Palpatine but I think he was done very well and I enjoyed how the Children of Time all got to kick around the Daleks - very early series like. This ending was just so emotionally satisfying for me, personally, that I think RTD is going out on probably the best note ever after having played his long game for four years. So many more thoughts are in my head but I am sure they will be added as the discussion continues.

As someone who avoids the next-time-on bits, I've been avoiding any threads that might contain spoilers of any kind until the season was finished. But now I can say: Wow! RTD is a storytelling god! Thank god he dusted off the laughable property of Doctor Who (and I type this as someone who was a big time Who nerd) and turned it into an important piece of modern television.

And it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks spoilers are ruining TV & movies...

Mild spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen Stolen Earth.

Assuming you can stop sniffing your paints long enough to have a coherent thought consider this,

I don't care about ratings, overall popularity or how many people like yourself are up RTD's backside, it doesn't mean I have to share the same opinion and your constant attitude towards me is oh so typical of the sheep mentality that drags this message board down at times.
I suppose if I wrote some of the same laughable "RTD is a genius" crap that others have I'd get a free ride but I'm not changing my opinion for anybody so why can't you do what others do and accept my opinions, and just move on. Nobody else has felt the need to keep making smug remarks about my views so WTF is your problem?
