Intresting, maybe that's one of the reasons for the delay of the DVD release?

The delay is down to it being one of the "difficult" stories from the period. Many of the Pertwee episodes require extensive restoration and new technologies have been created from scratch to address the various issues (for example Reverse Standards Conversion and an entirely new way to identify and restore original color signals to monochrome recordings). There have been a few of these trouble spots already to hit DVD (the big ones are The Silurians and Inferno which, as you may have noticed just from watching the DVDs, are still somewhat ropey despite massive restoration work). I'm sure The Daemons is being held until they have the best possible restoration techniques since it is considered a crown jewel.

Return to Devil's End is almost certainly not going to be on the DVD as 2E (which makes them) has shown little interest in pursuing the licenses for this sort of material in the past. Unfortunately.

I can't understand why people hated Adric.

He was nicely conceived but very poorly cast and executed. ;)

Thanks for the info,I've not checked out the restoration team's site for a good while so I wasn't aware about some of the difficulties with restoring certain stories. I can't say I've noticed too much of a difference in comparison to the other stories from that era on the Silurians and Inferno DVD's though,is there any particular parts that stand out?

The possibility of Gillian Anderson being in Nu-Who series 5 is good providing she plays someone of note and The Rani would certainly qualify as that.

As for the Time Lords and Gallifrey I think it's more a question of when they will return, rather than if but as RTD will be out of the picture before it happens there's every chance of a plausible explanation for their survival.

Gillian Anderson joinging the cast of Doctor Who as The Rani for Series 5?

The forty-year old actress is about to star alongside Christopher Eccleston on stage in A Doll's House

Well THAT'S hilarious.

I wonder if she'll do her Scully voice or the accented voice. It's weird hearing her with an english accent.

Looks like I might be her who grabbed The Master's Ring at the end of the episode......

I believe its 50% true. I think the TARDIS does get severely damaged and the master does return BUT I don't think the knocking is referring to the Master (I used to, but I have changed my mind) and I don't believe the Time Lords will have turned evil (at least no less evil than they have always been).

I stand by that the TARDIS gets blown to bits inside - new HD interior and showing more rooms. I stand by the return of the Master - Simm is the dark side of Tennants Doctor, fitting to have them both go out. I stand by Galifrey returning - it's been slowly leading up to it the past four series. I don't think the Master is the one knocking. I stand by the Time Lords being evil - destroyed by 8/9, ressurected by the Master, out for revenge on the Doctor for actually following the Time Lord ideal of non interference. Now watch me be totally and completely wrong.

Sounds like you and I are just about on the same page spoiler-wise. :)

I just realised you changed you name. I kept looking at this thread wondering how S. Antony started this thread when I could have sworn Memnoch did... I am gonna miss memnoch. :monkey2

I can't think of a single story in which the Doctor doesn't interfere!

:lecture

I even recall one story where he called the Timelords the most corrupt and rotten to the core civilization in the universe.

I did just hear a rumor from 72if that
Tom Baker may be providing a voiceover for a CG fourth doctor which interacts with Matt Smith in one of his first stories.
But as usual, grain of salt etc....

I remember seeing somewhere (perhaps Confidential) that Tom Baker was interested in playing The Master. If that's the case, then there could be *some* truth to your spoiler as Baker has shown interest in the new series.

I too, looked at the S.Anthony as the thread starter and wondered who the hell that was. There aren't many of us Who posters, and I thought I knew them all.

As far as I'm concerned, "S.Anthony" can change his name all he wants. As long as his avatar stays the same, his posts will register as "Memnoch" to me.

haha yea I'm keeping Rose. I changed because when I made the name 21 was the age and Memnoch was the first unique thing that popped into my head but in the last few years I decided it was time to go for something different. Anyway, I don't think we will see any past Doctors until AT LEAST the Christmas special between 5 and 6.

I'll be very, very suprised if that rumor about a return of a former Doctor turns out to be true as the impression he gives on the Classic DVD commentaries when asked about Nu-Who is "Meh".

As the speculation about DT's (long overdue) departure increases I'm suprised nobody has yet took a guess at how many times Captain Jack will "die" as along with the regeneration it's the one thing that's almost certain to happen.

I don't think Captain Jack will be in the finale unless they have been really REALLY good at keeping his presence on set under wraps.

Ok. Apparently I was wrong. John Barrowman is on the DW set in full costume filming along with Russel Tovey (played the young ensign in Voyage of the Dead who gets shot by the captain). :google
