What do you guys think of this? Where are my fellow whovians today? :wave

Why doesn't RTD have the 10th Doctor say his name as his last words and be done with it because it's obvious he wants to take away as much of the mystery surrounding the character as possible before he finally departs.

Along with every other cast member from Nu-Who so far ( except Eccleston ) we're now going to get Mummy Who and in all probability Daddy Who and his long lost Uncle Who that they never talk about showing up before he finally changes into 11.

Jack will "die" at least 5 times as well :lol

Well to be fair, I can't think of anything RTD has done to reveal any mystery. We'll see. I kinda doubt this rumor.

For me the intresting thing about the Doctor is his mysteriousness and actually showing any of his immediate relatives onscreen kind of lessens that.

I know his granddaughter travelled with him in the beginning but that's not the same as one of his parents and whilst it's probably BS I can see it being true as RTD has made families such a big part of his era.

Well its official. (pic by Scooty at DWF taken today at Tiger Tiger in Cardiff). My favorite companion of the new series is back!

just wondering, are they going to shove the gay marriage between mix raced skittle people agenda down our throats in that episode, or are we safe since its not a torchwood episode? :)

Well here's an idea. We KNOW there is a character named Verity Newman, a composite of the Doctor's "parents". What if this is her years later?

Torchwood is usually the worst offender but don't rule it out in Who either.

Despite his tendency to die as often as Kenny from South Park I think Captain Jack is one of the better supporting characters since the show came back and I'd still like to see him as a companion for a series.

That I think Jack is just one of the most interesting characters of the new series. Especially after the mystery was thrown out there on whether or no he is the Face of Boe (I personally think he is). Just makes his mythos a lot richer than the average Who character.

Did his character evolve much in the latter part of Torchwood series 2?
I stopped watching it after the one where Owen sat on the roof whinging about being dead so don't know if anything else of note happened.

Yea, I have liked Captain Jack since The Doctor Dances. He would be a great companion for the new season. But if he IS, where does that leave Torchwood????

I agree with this wholeheartedly. When we saw the Doctor flashback to Galifrey when he was talking about the master in "The Sound of Drums" I got goosebumps. Still do. I think it was handled perfectly. Just a couple of quick shots with dramatic music and it was done. I would hope anything involving The Doctor's parents would be done in a similar fashion. Though even that would kinda ruin it a little, imo. I mean, we've seen The Master and we know his relationship to The Doctor. We know of nothing of his parent's, and frankly, I don't think I want to know.

Regarding Jack: YES, MORE PLEASE!!!! :banana :chew

New tidbit from the land of possible spoilers:

as some of you may know, i run a doctor who blog, occasionally i do receive "titbits from the top table", and at risk of being yelled at again, here is some email i received earlier...

-begin-
Just found out this morning that Tennant is coming up to London on Friday to shoot a scene with Billie Piper. And it is literally just the one scene. Episode 4.18, Scene 163 to be precise. They're going to be out on location in a reasonably public place so there's some chance of photos but I don't want to be too specific in case the descent of hordes of 'Doctor Who' fans prompts anyone to try and find out where the information originated.

No idea what the scene actually entails but the Call Sheet lists the characters as "The Other Doctor" and "Rose Smith" so draw your own conclusions!
-end-

this of course may be rubbish, but who knows?

Interesting. I am hoping its nothing more than 10.5 somehow feeling that 10 is regenerating and he and Rose pause to contemplate on it.

I have a feeling the companions of the past are only going to be fleeting cameos rather than a "reunion" ala Journey's End. Somehow that seems much more palatable to me.
