Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

I will admit that the cost is quite great on these. However, for me there are a few characters that are worth putting this money into. I can't even imagine if they did a Buffy lsf. There is no possible way I could say no. No way in heck. And this Doom is just one of those statues that I look at and think...I would be sad if I didn't have this. I can live without it, but I'd be sad.

:exactly: thats exactly how i feel. When i first got into this hobby a year ago i wouldnt even consider the thought of purchasing half scales but as a massive Iron Man fan i inevitably had to get the Iron Man 1:2 scale statue, and let me tell those who have yet to see a half scale piece in the flesh that they are absolutely stunning to look at!! Doom is next on my hitlist but with this piece probably not even shipping until 2014 i am slowly considering the Wolvie 1:2 statue! The fact that there is a lack of half decent Wolvie statues on offer the 1:2 scale is definately worth thinking about...:wink1:

Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

2014 Works so perfectly us. I'm excited. I'll consider catwoman, but not 100% sure yet.

Catwoman is a lovely piece...again with Catwoman your looking at possibly another 2014 release seeing like Doom it hasnt even been listed for Pre Order yet. I dont think my bank balance could stretch to buying 2 LSF's in the same year, especially with all the other PF's and Maquettes that will be arriving...:thud: gonna stick with my plan of ordering Wolverine LSF this year and Doom for 2014

Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

I'm really thinking of getting this one as well. If it's no more than $2000/2200 i'll probably get this one.

Do it Jay and you wont regret it! Due to the Doom most likely not being shipped until 2014 i've even gone ahead and placed an order for the Wolverine LSF to quench my thirst for LSF's in 2013!!

Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

I'm going to go flow just one LSF eventually and since my collection is becoming wolverine biased it will probably be wolverine lol

Cool Antman, remember that at GBP1800.00 with CDUK will work out more expensive so best getting from Sideshow i think in regards to the Wolverine LSF...Sideshow will work out as GBP1250.00 for the statue, approx GBP250 for customs and then approx GBP150 for shipping. Total GBP1650

Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

That's cool I'm not getting it yet and by then I should have about 60 pounds in reward points so that will help.
It's still a while away though want to see the inhand pics first

In all honesty, we could buy a few lsf's a year. But, we would never be stupid enough to waste our money like that. We enjoy having a savings account so we can do things like...buy our house, and go on vacation, get a few statues here and there...have 0 debt. Etc. Even though we could afford both pieces, we have to be smart about savings. So we will only get 1.

Unless they do Anything Buffy/Angel related or Firefly. Then I give in.

Best way to be. If i don't have the money in my account it doesn't get bought until i do.

It's the only way to be. Everyone is so impatient and wants more, more, more. If you just sit down and realize it's gonna be okay if you have to wait, people would be in less trouble financially than they actually are.

Wise choice. I can't understand ANYONE putting themselves in a financial pickle for a piece that will have an open ES and can be bought at retail for years to come.

Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

I got in trouble debt wise a few years back. Not because of this hobby just things mounting up & lack of work. I've been debt free for over a year now & there's no way I'll ever let myself get in debt over statues. Saving up is the best way anyway, you feel better for it as well. I also think it makes you realise how much you want something when have to pay by cash rather than chucking it on a credit card for some reason.

Words of truth right there. I've been without credit cards for a while now. It does feel different to overspend on a statue when you know it's paid for and you don't owe anyone for it.

I'm going to start reading the Doom comics. Honestly I've never read one Doom comic, but this piece looks awesome, may just make a fan of me. :monkey1

I agree 100% with your post.
