Sideshow is hopefully rethinking their quality, price and value for money on this line. I think a 50% reduction in price and 50% improvement in quality is what they should be looking at.

This Doom has such an awesome pose and base. Hopefully SS will drop the LSF price after selling only a handful of the other LSF's and a high percentage of them returned for QC issues.

That does make me wonder how many PF Galactus' they sold. The cost of development to make a figure and to only sell a handfull is probably causing them to lose money.

If they can bring the cost down of the LSF Doom to $1k - 1.5k I think that would be a good number.

I haven't read comics in a while, and I never read any Fantastic Four or Dr. Doom comics, so I can't say I'm a fan of Doom...but I keep watching youtube videos from SDCC and this piece just looks so impressive! I love it. It's also likely that since the paint on Wolf LSF turned out good, this one will as well. There's a lot less to screw up paint wise on this piece too.

I have to agree with you. IMHO, this may very well be the finest statue I have ever seen. I am completely blown away by how great this piece looks. The details on this statue are amazing.

The Doom LSF is by far the most amazing statue i have ever seen and there was no question as to whether id be getting it. Now its just a case of waiting patiently for the pre order. However, i'm more than 90% sure that we'll see it again at this years SDCC so looking forward to more vids and pics to tantalise our taste buds

The Doom LSF is by far the most amazing statue i have ever seen and there was no question as to whether id be getting it. Now its just a case of waiting patiently for the pre order. They had massive QC problems and sold only a HANDFULL of the Darth Maul LSF so I could see them rethinking there ENTIRE LSF line. Especially if they are have any issues selling Wolverine...

Dont say that Spidey, im due for a Wolvie LSF and already people are getting worried abt that! I can see where people had initial problems with the Maul LSF..ie...the rather large feet in comparison the body and the extremeley large double saber which looked rediculous! These issues could be seen before on the pre order pics so thats why alot of people held back. I dont really so much wrong with the Doom or Wolvie LSF's but as you say SSC could change things un-necessarily and without even warning those who have already pre ordered

Dont say that Spidey, im due for a Wolvie LSF and already people are getting worried abt that! Good points Spidey...the Indy was a complete disaster although to SSC's credit they do seem to have turned the corner with their latest pics of the new head sculpt. I have the Iron Man LSF and its my favourite piece in my collection. Half Scale statues are awesome in my opinion and have so much presence in ones collection so i hope they dont consider stopping the LSF line. Agreed that its not as popular as the PF's and arguably the LSF's are also over priced which doesnt do them any favours...

If they were smart they'd give the LSF's an ES and number each piece. Doom looks like a masterpiece and would sell out. Not many of us buy an open ES piece without in hand pics because there's no hurry. It's hard to say how well these are selling until they've been shipped and reviewed.

The ES debate had been beaten to death...I know...but I think SS would(should) do that before even considering shutting down the LSF line completely.

I find it amazing that they have reached this level of expansion to allow themselves the luxury to commit resources to something like this with all the risks.

they've had open ES pieces well before the LSF line was started. All their 1:1 pieces were open ES, so they figured they could get away with it on pieces more than half of those in price.

They should just number them as they are made. When they decide to stop making them, release the total ES in a newsletter. As collectors we have a number, as producers SSC can make as many as they want before they close out a piece. Simple.

well i'll say im taking a chance. every since I saw this piece in person ive been visiting sideshow's page every day to get the chance to purchase it. can't come soon enough.
