Re: Dr. Doom LSF!

So...
Given the recent developments with Wolf LSF and the edition being closed early: who is not taking a chance in waiting and preordering Doom LSF right away when it goes up?
They should just number them as they are made. When they decide to stop making them, release the total ES in a newsletter. As collectors we have a number, as producers SSC can make as many as they want before they close out a piece. Simple.

Theres been some paint touchups, but other than that....its the same > i saw the proto when I was at SS a few weeks ago, and its amazing. I just can't fork out 2 grand for a hollow statue. Hopefully they dont run into the issues they had with Darth Maul LSF. It was a disaster and I returned mine.

This thing will probably ship in at least 3 large boxes. The base looks huge and it must be pretty solid to support the whole thing. I don't understand the concern with the weight of the figure itself bewteen the cloth, leather/faux leather components, cloth and polystone/plastics for the body.
Are we expecting actual medieval armor? I don't know how weight plays a factor at this scale given the logistics of mass production and shipping these pieces out affordably.
Clear ripoff? This whole hobby is a ripoff...yet here we are. QUOTE]
You sound like my other half! I try not to think of it like that and just think its money that it is going to something that i enjoy rather than booze, cigarettes or drugs! I'm pretty lucky to earn enough money so that i can spoil my family rotten and also put a little aside for myself towards something that i've loved since being a teenager. This hobby sucks financially but rules in every other way!
I'm probably not just speaking for myself when i say that the kids enjoy my hobby just as much as i do. Seeing the excitement in their eyes just makes me even more happy that i have a collection full stop...being raised from a huge Italian family all i got see as a child was mounds of pasta and vino!!!
As the old saying goes, "never say never"...i really think that after i have paid off the Doom LSF and recieved him that i'm gonna cool it for a while in terms of ordering anything else...i cant say what amazing new statues/figures that Sideshow, Hot Toys or Enterbay will come up with before the end of the year but i will try my hardest to resist it...
but i will try my hardest to resist it...
Not gonna happen and we both know it.
