Thats actually another 50% up in quantity, if its from 20 pcs to 30 pcs.

Perhaps some price drop for this if theres more quantity added like what Entropy suggested?

Regardless of how many he could sell, I think the edition sizes have been perfect and I very much like the small edition sizes Rainman keeps. If the edition size goes up then the price should be lowered as well.

But frankly, I think you should keep the edition no as you intially planned, like what you usually do:

Since theres also the head + clothing set, and also the clothing set etc if anybody missed out on this. As far as I remembered, a couple of people who were interested in getting the full sets intially initially like buttmunch etc has decided to change their mind to getting the head + clothing set.

Rainman's stands are usually enclosed separately in bubble wrap, along with the extra Hot Toys hands, since they do not fit in his custom box.

Of course, it should also be said that VIPs who get a pre-order before the rest of us have an incentive to keep the edition size of this specific figure low. Because then, their figure has more value. And they already have one reserved (if I'm understanding Rainman correctly), so what do they care if others have a shot?

Like I said earlier, I agree that Rainman should consider the needs of the VIPs because that's gonna be his customer base no matter what, while I and others are interested in specific figures.

However, I would also say that if VIPs want to keep the edition size low, maybe Rainman should take away the pre-order exception for this item and make the VIPs compete with everyone else. Then, they could step in our shoes. Just a suggestion.

Be that as it may, Rainman is in charge, and can do as he pleases. No item has been created or shipped yet, so even if payments were sent he could refund those. . .not that he would. But though the VIPs may be his primary, traditional customer base, he also has a consideration to non-VIP customers that may well become VIPs in the future (which is why he suggested expanding the edition size to begin with).

I think the sell out at VIP level has put Rainman in a very difficult position and I really feel for him! This is a first and so we really should cut the guy some slack!

I am not opposed to the number being increased to 30, I am not bothered how valueable this piece is at all! I will never ever sell this figure! It is priceless to me and that is really all that matters imo

I personally think Rainman has made a good decision, I do think it would be unfair to close the PO before it even started in essence and if that means providing an extra 10 to non VIP customers then I agree with this

I have to agree. It is unfair to think you are buying 1 of 20 at a certain price, then after you have purchased the number made is increased by 50% yet the price paid remains the same. In addition to the quality, the rarity is part of what makes these figures desirable.

What about a compromise and the number of head/clothing sets (which has not yet been announced) be increased in number? or something like that? I'm all for more people to enjoy Rainman's work, but it's not fair to penalize the loyal customers who already paid expecting they were paying for 1 of 20.
