Well, it's the email that says to expect the shipment soon and to make sure that the mailing address and payment info is up to date. It doesn't give a specific date tho. I did email them and they said that the ones they have are from the DCD.

Well, now I'm officially pissed by Hot Toys!!!!!

I can't believe it... 3 weeks waiting-time and now they don't want to replace it. What the ____!!!!

Wait so Thrust you sent them your DX Batman body for replacement and now after "inspecting" it, they're telling you that they aren't going to replace it? :slap WTF? What @$$ clowns.

Why require high res pics and a receipt if they're going to inspect the body there and possibly deny you anyway? I thik that's rediculous. Enough with the games.

They got my body on the 17 and I haven't heard anything from them yet. Hope this doesn't happen to me. It cost me $40 to send it to them. I better get a replacement.

SanShou, it hasn't been sent off. He supplied photos etc and thats as far as it went then the refusal.

No shipping to Hot Toys, no entitlement to a replacement and he's not even part of the 1 replacement policy. For all we know their policy will change again.

The amusing part.

  • After-sales services is not applicable for purchase on online auction sites (e.g. eBay, Yahoo) and unofficial channels.
  • Replacement claim is only accepted if it is a result of errors in the production or manufacturing process (i.e. receipt of incorrect or defective item, etc.)

Yep like v has said, I've send them a mail 3 weeks ago with pics, payment receipt and everything and asked them for a replacement due to the oil-leakage problem. i've waited nearly 2 weeks until they told me that they're investigating it. than they've send me nothing one week. after I've wrote to them and asked if they have totally forgotten me, they sent me two days ago then that they're not replacing it. So I've waited now more than 3 weeks for their 'no'.

It sounds like HT isn't treating the oil as a defect, only figures where that "melting" effect occurs, which is shameful, it's all a defect and can ruin the collector experience equally.

Surely there has to be some form of law to protect the consumer for selling faulty goods with them not honouring replacements. If the oil wasn't a problem they wouldn't have fixed it.

There is, it's called the lemon law. Good luck filing that case in an international court though. It's tough in EU, impossible in Asia. You could fight it on the local level if you don't plan on going back to the store you bought him from here. If you bought it on auction, I hope you have millions to drag Ebay through a Napster type lawsuit. In the end, the local deals will only affect retailers and distributors though. HT will remain unphased.

They're not totally stupid, if they could be held accountable legally they wouldn't do things, that's why they're putting all these policies in place, they're covering their asses so they can do whatever works for them.

What BULL--it!!!!!!!!! It pisses me off that they are just basically telling collector's to FU-- OFF! The only reason the are re-doing the DC batch is because they KNOW a large company like DC would have called them out in court. I say boycott them! If we take it sitting down, they'll keep ripping of collectors. SHAME ON YOU HT!!! I for one am cancelling my Terminator!

I guess I must be on their blacklist since they wont acknowledge anything for complaining on a forum (here) about them while my figure slowly rots away.

They're emailing just sucks, for years I've tried to email them for different things with little response, I know others have gotten through but in my experience, communication with HT directly is useless, that's why I'll only buy their products from dealers I'm certain will handle it for me, I have no faith in going it on my own.

Face it, fellas, as peeved as you may be about the DX Bats you'll only boycott until HT releases its next irresistible figure. Then you'll be back on the wagon. :1-1:

That being said, mine has a little residue but I'm keeping mine boxed up (it displays better that way) so I don't lose sleep over it.

I think keeping it boxed has proven to be a bad idea. Weren't there
several cases leaving the reside running has caused even more damage? Also I can already see that the residue if left accumulating will aslo soak into the hard plastic of the shoulderpads. The shade of black will be noticably different, not sure if it will change the characteristics of the plastic though.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Wiping away the oil will eventually cause the suit to raisin and wrinkles the "texture" printed paper inside. Not wiping it away will cause it to do that melty jazz. Looks like either way it's ____ed. Though personally, I'd prefer the shriveling to the melting.

Yeah, unless you had a very minute ammount, I don't think you can leave it alone to just go away naturally without consequences, and wiping it has consequences. There's no option to have a good figure other than buying a new one with the new body or getting a replacement, which isn't much of an option because they're not honoring it for everyone.
