Has your DX02 shown signs of residue buildup in the abdominal area?

At first I really thought that the belt was causing the material to ooze because it was too tight, but then I took it off and have left it off ever since and the lower abs have continued to ooze. Mine is not leaking at all, just shiny and from what I can gather so far, not really a potential for any kind of long term problem. Still, bizarre as hell.

how are peoples figures in the UK comparing to the USA and hotter countries? Im in the UK and my figures always arrive pretty cold. i dont own the bats dx so i cant currently judge for myself

I have residue on the stomach area.:sick I ordered mine when it first arrived in Asia and I have had it for months.

I checked it often when the complaints first began and it showed no signs of residue. I was tinkering with my display over the weekend and found a small spot.

Nothing earth shattering but alas it finally happened.

I'm somewhat part of this now but mine is more like what Dino described. It's so subtle though. It's like the effect if you eat a small packet of nuts and handle something. A gentle shine to it not glossy.

This pic is MaulFan's but as an example of where mine starts in the white lines.

Other smeary parts is at the blurry white. Ironic that both figures are the exact same parts.

It's in a room thats 18 - 20c/64 - 68f. Both figures arrived dry.

What I really don't get is why the likes of Snake Eater he says his is fine, I get mine 2 months later and here you have it.

 I'm reasonably new here, so sorry if this a stupid question, have Sideshow commented on the issue? Do they ever comment on something like this from a third party manufacturer? Oh I don't know, like maybe warning their fans on this forum for example? Do they moderate or get involved with this forum or is it a completely separate entity? Not saying it's their responsibility, but it's all our problem.

Just wondering if there has/will be any official comment from Hot Toys distributers outside HK?

Sideshow isn't a distributor of Dlx Batman therefore, Sideshow would have no comment. DC Direct handles Dlx Batman and they have not received their supply from HT. They will recieve their shipment towards the spring / summer months.

HT is really the only party involved at this point. I suggest buyer beware mindset until the "second wave" or DC Direct shipment which hopefully resolves the issue.

That's why I sort of lean towards the idea that whatever it is that is building up on the surface of this figure could be related to something being trapped inside the rubber because it wasn't handled properly, which would make the varying effects make sense, some that don't show it at all, some that show it worse. Of course there's always a chance some of the people saying the have none are looking for serious fluid buildup aren't spotting the just shiny effect like mine had and dismissing it. When mine started, if I weren't on the lookout for there to be an issue, I may not have seen it, and ultimately it may have been the constant wiping that made it as bad as it is right now, so someone with a case as mild as mine started that doesn't spot it and doesn't wipe it could have it remain minor and not be aware. There is a chance there are people with absolutely none, but given how many it's affecting, it seems like odds are everyone has something of some degree and it's a matter of who's getting it bad enough to notice or really looking for it to notice.

Well mine is still box fresh and just opened occasionally to inspect it. I have since removed the belt hoping that would do something but no. The abs still have this horrible oily sheen

I have both of mine beltless now for over a week and left them as is for almost a week now. Looks like ones they reached a certain stage it is at least not spreading further. One of them has one glossy plate and 3 partially saturated plates. My other Bat has all 4 plates almost soaking wet :( Just waiting for instructions from HT now :(

Just like me... :banghead

Like Eddie Wong said, we just to live with it! But please do something Hot Toys !!! Everybody have this problem... I'm curious to see the next arrival (may 26 in Usa in Dcdirect).

I'm UK based and mine shows signs of the oil right at the bottom of the left plate, luckily very minimal on mine so far.

I'm from the UK. Mine had oil out of the box. It shows signs of oil still that come back only hours after I wipe it. I've only had it a week and wiped it once mid week when I was changing the heads. It doesn't seem to have spread and is minimal on the left ab and almost unnoticable on the right.

I havnt received mine yet but where is all of this oil leaking from? I dont understand how the figure can continually leak? it there liquid inside the figure for some reason?

It's not leaking, the theory is that it's a chemical process and exposure to air makes this area of the rubber armor extrude a substance that is probably part of the manufacturing process.

I can just barely smell it but I have to go really close. It actually reminds me of my old Hornby train sets I use to have.

My abs from the last pic above cleared up quite some time ago even before those photos I posted in the main DX thread. When I looked closer I saw a smidge of oil process behind the tip of both belts as it's touching the body.

This is now the only place it now somewhat leaks but it takes quite a long time to build up.

Photo originally belongs to MaulFan.

I'm going to see what happens come the morning with both belts off. Interesting how both my figs are producing the exact same parts. Strange that.

This is strange. Have you checked if the oil has currative properties? maybe if you apply the secreted oil to a V1 joker head itll transform it into a DX? Maybe if you apply the oil to the Triad House proto, itll actually look like House! J/K obviouosly.:lol:lol

Yeah, looks nekkid.

Reminds me of Batman Forever, the end or was it Batman & Robin. I can't remember which has the full one colour.

I'm starting to wonder if that's just the lubricant they put inside the bat suit to help in inserting the bodies into the suit (much like the oil on the insides of the rubber leg sleeves of the HT rubber bodies) that's slowly seeping out. either way, not good news at all.
