This is bigtime Bull---- on behalf of HT. To pay that much cash and to have to deal with this type of situation is BEYOND ridiculous. Its a big slap in the face to collectors. This warrants a Toyota recall.

100% agree

So upon inspecting, with both belts off 12 hours later with the belts off the part below the abs is dry. The abs too are dry and what's the plastic circular sticker? is that the plastic sticker that holds the magnets in so they don't drop out the back of the belt? or is this something else?...

I believe the circular sticker they refer to is a round tape that closes the plastic around the belt in shipping.

Hot Toys replied to my email...

Hello,

We are very sorry to hear about that.

Concerning Batman oil problem in abs area, it was caused by the circle sticker and plastic bag of the belt, please take apart the circle sticker and plastic bag of the belt, then you can slightly wipe off the oil by finger. The oil will not affect the body surface if you can wipe off the oil once leak out.

Appreciated you follow the above method to solve the oil problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please feel free to contact us if there are any problem.

Thank you for your support for Hot Toys products!

Thanks and best regards,
SA/ Hot Toys Ltd.

Can anyone enlighten me what circle sticker they are talking about?

Exactly....& wiping it off with the finger?
I also thought this advice was similar to the one given to Maulfan earlier.

That's exactly the response I got, and when I noticed wiping it away was causing paint to come off, it's what pissed me off to initiate a replacement option. That email is full of "no ____" type responses, take off the sticker, well what collector isn't going to remove the shipping sticker around the belt when they get it, and it can't be the cause because for me, the problem came days after that, and again, wipe it away, great, keep wiping and lose the paint job.

The gel pack can last for many years. Good for u to collect them.

But use it in closed cabinet, not in open area :lol

they do last for a long time if in dry controlled environment. But ones exposed it will saturate to a point when it has no more effects.

I think we all agree that someone knowledgeable in HT has to step up and provide an official statement at one point of time. Certainly the sticker theory needs to be wiped off their brains and they need to simply reply with "under investigation" at this stage without causing more anger but I assume that particular CSR just does not know better.

It's sad that the only person getting any real answers seems to be wookster because of his connections but paying customers are getting the automated response.

He's not pathetic, he's being cautious. For all you know he might store them in glass which can trap moisture.

And the peeling problem was on batch 1, and that was happening straight out of the box. Maybe batch 2 might get it in the future, who knows, but there is no need to be rude to a fellow collector.

well said sir!!!:chew

Wookster
I think it is time to flex your muscles and advise HT CSR to smarten up and not use this claim of stickers anymore as it does more harm than good.

You know, I would much rather if they give me a response that they dont know what the _____k is going on and how oil is coming up and they are trying to find a solution/ or have no solution, instead of giving me this type of stupid advice......rub the oil, remove the stickers....rub it again if the oil comes out again.

kazu, sadly thats the first rule with business these days. It runs through everything. Never admit and if you do you open yourself up to get sued. God forbid somebody admits they made a mistake! So therefor they all go into denial. Act as if nothing bad has happened while secretly trying to fix things privately.

It sucks big time & I thought honesty was the best policy (well, maybe not in the business sense)

At least, I still have a Medicom TDK suit batman that doesnt leak any oils.

That's what's really bugged me with this incident, it being another case of someone seeming to try and avoid responsibility. More than anything, I want them to say, yes, sorry, we ____ed up.

Thats how the UK is royally messed up well beyond messed up in fact. No one takes responsibility here, it's all pass the buck. Well in this case pound but you know what I mean. ¬_¬

Got mine today. Lower abs were greasy in box. Dabbed with kitchen towel and seemed to be ok. Checked again roughly 5 hours later and the grease/oil was beginning to come through again. V.disappointed. Poor HT! Answers please.

abc has advised me if i send my dx bats's back, they'll send them on to HT for repair, or replace them themselves with new ones. the 2nd option is very generous, but as they pointed out - no guarantee it won't be even worse on those. 1st option seems shifty since HT haven't even said they can or will fix this problem. i'd hate to send them all the way there via suckass expensive royal mail, only to discover some bozo with a box of tissues has sat there wiping his abs for 2 days. i'm a bozo. i have tissues. i can do that myself!

Mine seems to ooze less and less every day, so it seems like all this oozing will stop at some point. I mean after all, this stuff can't come out forever, its reserves have to expire eventually.

Yeah this is what i have been experiencing also! Everyday it is getting that little bit better everytime i dab it. So i am guessing in the next couple of months fingers crossed that the oil will eventually dry up i guess :D
