Has your DX02 shown signs of residue buildup in the abdominal area?

I'm optimistic too, this is such an awesome figure that to have it problem free would be fantastic, but after all the bull with HT trying to get answers, and the half assed first "fix" that didn't work and all, I'm not prepared to just embrace that because something is seemingly radically different from the original make of the figure that the problem is completely solved. The report is that it feels like a harder material than the old material, suppose it's just a denser mix of the same rubber, if that's so, then the problem could still happen. Like I said, after everything, I won't be prepared to feel they've solved it for a few months. I should be seeing my replacement in hand sometime this week, so I'll see how that goes.

It's not just a denser rubber. It actually feels like the plastic used for the chest piece. I can't be sure what it is but it defeinetely does not feel like any rubber type material. The surface is not tacky at all but more like slippery like the chest piece

BTW have not cleaned for a long time and this is the "imprint" of the sucker and the Bat was standing all this time beltless and this is a strange observation don't you think?

This would actually indicate the most residue is not around the abs but on the side of the ribs?!

Yeah it's a new body.The minute i took it out of the box i noticed the difference.It's not as shiny as it was before with the original DX body.I might be wrong but it also seems to be a little wider too but it could be just my imagination.

Actualy now that you mention it the overall diameter is a bit larger. I just checked my old leaky one and realized that the upper suit has not "eaten" into the pants part of the suit but I guess the constant pressue from the tightness of the suit has now compressed the raised plates right around the shape of the upper suit. Also the pattern above the pants plates under the abs suit is also showing in some areas where the hole pattern is less deep
Update, wel I can pose the body to press less on the pants so we'll see if the rubber relaxes back to it's original shape :p

old suit

The new upper suit is actually clearing the pants part of the suit so not likely to happen on this one.

No. That pad, was it in below the rubber? or did you lean hard on that absorbent pad from outside of the suit.

I'm wondering the same thing...

Also - Geil, since you have 2 figures with both ab construction: How would you compare articulation/poseability between the 2?

I thought it was perfectly smooth in below the rubber. So no imprint would show. So therefor he'd have to lean on it from the outside for the detail to show on the pad.

Plus the last I remember it was smooth. As I had to gently lift both vests up to place kitchen roll in below. It looked smooth.

I believe Geil wrapped tissue around the outside of his figure to soak up the oil, not slipping it under the suit like people were doing to keep it from leaking.

The oilsucking sheet was just used now to remove the residue so it was not placed under the abs.

That's the thing the DX V1 rubber was already so stiff that it would not bend when posing so I do not see any difference in posability. only difference I can see is that when bending batboy backwards a lot the abs will stick out and with the DX V1 you could probably still manage to keep the belt on but with the new plastic abs I don't the belt will stay on or allow you to bend back that much so in a way I am glad I kept my TDK V1 for my Batpod

I jsut left the batboy ooze and have not tried the sandwiching towel method yet. I suck off the oil usually by just laying this sheet over the abs and ribcage and start pressing it into the suit. The sheet itself is grey and when oil sucks into the sheet it turns dark almost like a black. Teh two spots look wet cause it is actually so much residue that it only spread into the paper a bit later after the picture was taken. The liquid nercury you think you see is just the wetness refelcting the flash (as I lend my fast lens to a friend for a trip :( )

Ah I see. That makes me feel better. I doubt I would have tried for any bent back poses (and I don't have a batpod).

hi guy recived replacement body today...they did upgrade from rubber to plastic body..

So when this guy posted less than 2 weeks ago with photos saying that they did upgrade from rubber to plastic body presumably he meant "they did upgrade from rubber to plastic body", like what somebody might say if Hot Toys had upgraded from rubber to plastic body.
I personally would have phrased it "they did upgrade from rubber to plastic body".

Confusing.... :confused::confused::confused:

I see what you did there. ;)

Here I thought that Geil and CeeemOr were the first ones to get the new construction... Don't know how I missed that post by cheeseman69! :google

Penn what did you just say??? You just phrased it the same way as cheeseman...

Confusing.... :confused::confused::confused:

Seemed to me fairly self evident from Cheeseman's post and images that he was indicating the abdominal region of his replacement was now made from plastic. 'Upgraded' if you will.

It was largely interpreted at the time as referring to the clear plastic sheet HT were placing under the rubber shirt for a period.
Recent developments might suggest otherwise.
