Wassup everyone? It's been a while since I've posted about my DX replacement experience. My replacement is the one with the plastic sheet between the suit pieces if any of you don't remember.

There is no oil on the arm plates, but there is a small amount of oil that comes from behind the belt. It is not a lot of oil, personally I can deal with it as it's covered by the belt and the other ab plates haven't darkened due to oil trying to seep through. This suggests to me that the problem is indeed with the rubber material used for the abs. Seeing as Hot Toys has switched to using a different material, possibly plastic, on the abs the problem should be solved. I'm not saying that it's fixed, but from my own experience the problem lies with the material used on the abs and nothing more.

I pre-ordered another DX from the DCD shipment a long while back and I'll let you guys know my experiences on that figure as well.

anyway, i'll let you guys know how it goes. i really hope everyone who wants a replacement gets one. you damn sure deserve one.

Not only that, but if this new material is indeed a cure at last, the ones who got ____ed over with the stupid plastic sheet fix replacements that still leak should be entitled to another replacement, it's HT fault for sending one out prematurely and obviously it wasn't the answer since they did more mods to the figure before this current version.

:lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture

If HT doesn't do this, I'll loose all respect for them as a company and never buy a new HT figure again. Might sound drastic, but I see no need to support companies who piss on their customers like this.

I think Geil and others here who recieved the plastic replacement body start a new thread and update us once a week on if it is holding up. Since that is the body most of us who preordered form the DCD shipment might get.

No, there are enough threads about this figure as is, if they want to share pics and updates in the main thread or here that's enough.

This thread will turn into the "look at my not leaky bat" thread the more ppl get it so not to worry :)
Now reading HT's response again I think they are referring to the still existing risk of oil to other parts of the bat that may/will leak as the material change only seems to be with the front of the suit. But that is also the only real noticeable area.

The stomach and biceps have been the only problem area and were also the only rubber parts of the suit made from a different material, I'm not worried about hte pants and rest of the sure, it's only been the 2 spots that were made differently that were of concern and hopefully the newest material resolves the problem.

yes but if you check my "imprint" of the oil that was oozing from my old standing bat those two side spots are potentially another source of oil but then again not as noticeable especially since that area is glossy by design

That's tissue though, fluid runs and spreads in that. The only spots anyone has seen the oil on are the parts of the shirt made from the different mater, nowhere on the legs or the reast of the shirt, just the front pieces of the shirt and the biceps. I'm really not concerned, the v1 has gone 2 years without a problem.

Yes but that's the thing.... the fluid would not travel sideways and upwards to those two spots (unless some weird capillary structure is in place) again my bat has been standing all this time. I even suspect that those may even be the origin and it just runs down and eventually ends up on the bottom edhe of the abs and then filling up all the way to those four ab plates

I just got my DX Batman and guess what? It has leaky bicep. Hope they offer to replace mine.

Thats with the fixed abs? the biceps glisten terribly on some as well.

So the figure has had:

  • Suit peeling
  • Warped ears and heads
  • Skewed sonar eyes and some pers eyes are off
  • Plastic defects on the back of the shoulder pads
  • Oozing abs
  • Oozing biceps

First workaround fix: Plastic insert.

Second fix: Plastic abs. Not 100% confirmed yet.

Oil still remains on the figure in another area even from day one, oozing biceps.

Don't you dare explain :lol
OK just not the literal meaning :rotfl
It's just kinda means "cool"

Gotta love Wikipedia:

Geil is a German and Dutch word for sexually aroused.

In German-speaking countries it is more often used by youth as slang term meaning something along the lines of 'cool' or 'awesome'. An equivalent is American usage of the word 'mad' or '_____in' to describe something ecstatic. It's meaning developed from sexually aroused (since the 15th century) over sexually attractive in the 1970s and 1980s to attractive in general. Today "to be 'geil'" has lost it's offensive character nearly completely. "Geil" is now only sexually explicit in the phrase "to make someone 'geil'" (= to make someone horny)
