Why does it take a month for the replacement? it doesn't take 2 weeks to go back and forth to Hong Kong.

Mailing alone can take up to a couple of weeks. But if they're saying once it's received it'll take a month to ship out, likely it's just more of a BS detourant to discourage people wanting replacements.

There's another thing thats stingy. I remember when Eddie started the process of getting his replaced. Hot Toys would only replace 1 at a time.

Thats twice the amount of shipping fees because Hot Toys will only do 1 at a time. :(

It's so much easier to put 2 in the box and a one off payment sent off.

YellowJoshua has sent his back and Hot Toys said it'll take a month before he gets it back. Well the replacement body.

It wasn't part of the most recent chatter so I was confused what you were referring to.

You really think a month wait is going to turn a lot of people away from pursuing a replacement? Seems silly to me to rather have a defective figure than deal with not having one for a month to get a good one. Mine was out of my hands almost 2 months.

While I understand why the buyer has to pay for shipping it to them (a necessary cost of returning an item), I don't understand not being able to bunch them up. Are they so incompetent that they can't keep track of returns? :dunno

We're talking about impatient TDK fans here. :lol

Most people get their panties in a bunch when there's not an immediate response to a CS inquiry let alone a 2-week delay in product release.

they didnt actually tell me how long it would take they told me last week they had sent it and im just waiting now

Ah. I see. Well I do recall somebody else sent theirs off and they got word it was to take a month.

Did you get a tracking number?

I guess, I just can't comprehend it, I can't imagine ever being so clingy to a collectible that despite being broken or defective, I'd rather keep it in that state than spend a small period of time without it to get a fixed one.

Don't forget, that month estimate's probably a cover their ass period, could only take two weeks, but if they say 2 weeks and take 4, they'll get _____ed at, better to estimate a longer time and show up quicker.

Yet there are some individuals who've been posting here that are doing just that. :cuckoo:

Thats my issue. Not parting with it. It getting lost like they done so well to Rory that eventually turned up.

Hot Toys gave him the delivery address and he asked to clarify. They said yes and Hot Toys still f*c*3d it up!

I guess it comes down to how you feel towards the defect. Me, I'd have probably ended up storing the figure away and maybe sticking parts on the v1 and writing it off as a wasted $200 if I couldn't get it replaced, so any risk in the gamble of pursuing a replacement was worth it my book, waiting, challenges, I'd rather end up with a figure I can enjoy than a bin filler.

What I know now I really wish I waited for the DCD release but no other figure ever gave problems for me until now.

When I bought it as did you only 2 - 3 people spotted this at the time and snowballed until this day but it was just a little off colour. No glistening.

I think now in future when it comes to rubber figures, I'll wait out for the long haul. Even now with Hot Toys fixing this no one should be ruling out that this same repeat cannot happen again. Hot Toys isn't exactly trust worthy anymore.

Sadly in my own sick way to some degree yes and other ways no I'm dying to see the responses when it comes to the next Batman figure since it's rubber. Just to see if so many people have brushed it under or the majority will really voice this cluster _____k out in the open again. Saying that if it's another year or so out I'm sure most will have quickly forgotten.

It's sad at the end of the day Hot Toys never cared about their own countries customers (first batch) or international customers (second batch - that me and you as many others were in here) but only cared about the DCD shipment. That really is disgraceful.

I agree, if HT takes on the Keaton Batmans or just makes stuff for the next Nolan film, I'll have a hard time passing it up because I really like Batman, but I'll probably start excercising patience. I've never seen an HT figure where over the various shipments, some major flaw was fixed but those in the earlier shipments didn't have an easy time getting their issues resolved, but after how this all went down, I'll play it safe.

I think they'll probably do the Keaton Bats out of the same material they did the previous 2 TDK bats, OG and new costume. His suit wasn't nearly as complex as the TDK suit. So fortunately, there shouldn't be any leaking issues.

You never know. If they try to be true to the actual costume, could be trouble. The main armor plates were one material glued over a body suit.

You can actually spot it on the DCD bust, the sleeves are matte where it's the body suit and glossy where it's the armor pieces.

Granted, in theory, HT should have learned from this DX and won't be repeating the mistakes again in the future, but where they're always trying out new ways of doing things, I'll feel safer just delaying receipt of the figure to wait out possible issues.

Wait.. there's people who are passing up the replacement to keep the defective version!? Or is that just speculation? That's crazy if it's true.

Some people have commented that they'll just live with the level of leaking their figure has. It's a varying issue, some figures are affected much worse than others.

I can understand that point as you have to send the body to them. Insurred shipping for me would cost about 80 $ which is almost a new one and none insurred shipping is my own risk as they only send replacement when / if the body arrives... Thats quite a risky game... :thud:
