If you look at Rory's picture, there are vertical oil lines as well, in 2 spots, which are in line with the glue from tape theory. It's possible, his had pooled up glue residue that was smudged to the right when he may have twisted the belt, or during shipping as in the case of the second one. The only thing this wouldn't explain is it returning without the belt on. That remains a mystery.
Keep the PVC belf from contact with the PVC "rubber" body... The High plasticizers content of the Suit is the "oil"...
Of the 2 materials in contact the softer material (higher plasticizers) content will degrade
I did, it does.Someone should just clean it, leave the belt off for a day or two and then you'll know when it returns or not
I see what you're saying with Rory's. I think the buckle is attached to the belt with glue as well. So it may be leaking from that joint/connection.
Listen guys say what you want about your own figures. But let me tell you mine has oil. I sincerely hope the rest of you don't get the same problem. This oil, wiped off onto my finger like olive oil. It pooled. This is not new, it's exactly the ____ing same as my DX02 and melting Comedian. It's not good news for sure, but sorry that's the reality of it.
It is not sticky tape residue. It came back without the belt.
This is all the same pointless posting that started the DX02 disaster.
No interest in debating it with anyone, wasted enough of my time on that in the DX02 and Comedian threads. This is a fact: My 2 DX09 Batmen figures show sign of oils leakage. In fact if you go back to my original post when I opened my first Bats, you will see that I mentioned it had a slight oily residue under the cowl, out of the box. Others have noted this as well.
Now, I have no reason to lie about this, neither am I stupid. So that that as you will. Lets hope this thread just dies and this isn't a problem.
I have no interest in debating this with anyone. I wanted to simply present the facts as I see them.
Out of here now, cause I can see the line this thread is taking. Just like the DX02 thread did.
And yes it's still leaking today. After being wiped off for the last two days.
I think you should get some organic black paper and wrap around the insides of the cowl. I think that will separate those two materials from reacting with each other. Good thing the suit is sort of having a textured feel to it. The black paper from the waist seems to blend well with the suit and if you ask me i think it looks ok from afar! If you are not OCD about it i think its a deterrent from making the issue worse. Hope that helps and good luck bro.
Your sig pic goes well with your comment.
Very good point actually.

I'm definitely taking what you mentioned seriously, Rory. Since you have experience with the DX02 and Comedian, I would like to know, does touching the rubber with your fingers speed up the deterioration and make it worse? I'm planning to put my Batman figure in a detolf shelf and not touch it.

Nah, mate nothing to do with it as far as I know. I don't really handle my figures at all.
One has to wonder why it's only appearing in the front, and not on the sides or the back of the waist/torso. Very strange.
If it isn't tape or glue, and it's the rubber itself due to the belt. One has to wonder why it's only appearing in the front, and not on the sides or the back of the waist/torso. Very strange.
What is it about the lower abs? If it's curing, why don't the legs secrete, or the elbows or the back? It's all one piece of the same rubber suit. Why the waist?
