Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Not bad but not good enough for me to buy it. The likeness is an improvement but the quality of the sculpt isn't. And the issues with the body proportions I had with the first release are still there. And the rest just feels like I've already seen it all before. I do need a cyberdyne figure in the collection so I have all his major looks represented but I may just convert my first release with parts from this.

The only one that looks good to me with PERS.
Still, glad I passd on this.

whic head is this..?
I am confused:panic::panic:

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

The DX head.

The large neck may be throwing off the likeness.

The leathers look sooo much better than the MMS.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I've gone back & looked at all the pics (cheers OMG) - & there are some nice things about this figure, sure.

That said - I love the first HT T2 Arnold - LOVE it. The head sculpt may not be 100%, but it's a f'ing solid figure, with a crisply sculpted, aged Arnold likeness - plus that sensational endo arm, & some great extras.

This new one just feels like mostly more of the same - with those excellent guns, but also a few gimmicks thrown in to hopefully make you feel better about buying one.

Really glad I have the first version now.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Agreed. There's some obvious improvements. BUT THE EYEES :horror

Yupp

Definitely agree - I can see way too many similarities between the DX12 Bruce Wayne and this Arnie sculpt, and that should NOT be the case :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

Looks so incredibly soft!! :monkey4

God, I was starting to think I was the only one banging on about this!
For the last year or so, most HT headsculpt a have a weird beige vinyl look to them, it's a softer moulding process. To counteract this they have been spraying dotted "freckles" over everything and using a bizarre bright red spray on sections of the sculpts. This gives a weird toy look.

Anytime I mention this (because I find it hard to ignore) I get jumped on by the HT fanboys. These sculpts simply are not good enough anymore.
Whatever change HT had made they need to rethink. It's not working. IMO.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Seems like HT rushed this just to counter EB's 1/4 T-800. That's why some collector's feel like it's a half baked release.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Honestly I'm tired of being disappointed by soft sculpts. So tired, that I've gotten quite used to them and now appreciate the sculpt for its wonderful accuracy to Arnie. Sure the sculpt isn't as crisp, and the paint is awful, but I've already complained about those issues before, and the likeness is a clear winner when compared with the MMS. A clear winner.

Yeah, I think they need to revisit this urgently.

The good news is if EB keeps cracking out the quality they have been lately, HT will be forced to

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Which thread is this? :panic:

yes I know is the dx 10 head but this a different angle pic (the face seems longer due the zoom pic) and without neck is a way better...:panic::panic:

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I honestly don't get all the complaints about this.
Just. . .stop. You may not realize how annoying this kind of post is, but trust me, it is annoying as ****.

It does look great here. Funny that it only looks great to me in the bad lighting of this shot.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Ya know what, I think this came out even better than the proto pics.

The first HT T2's head and neck really bothered me so for me personally, this figure is a big improvement.

Looking forward to getting it!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I do think the final product is superior to the prototype. . .not that that takes much :D

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Well, I am not overly blown away by the sculpt on this one. He looks too young or something. I am still extremely happy with my first release, thank you very much.

I'll voice my opinion as much as I feel like bro... you mad?

Im MY OPINION.... this figure looks great. This is NOT--IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM--the HT Indy debacle. Far from it. The PERS honestly doesn't look so bad.

I don't get the mentality of some of you... come over to the customs threads where people pay 4 times what this figure costs for sculpts that may actually be INFERIOR to this one. Hot Toys has spoiled some of you. (in fact if this were a Rainman or Sunohc or Iminime or Serang sculpt it would be sold out and at ridiculous prices).

Let me just say this... if the original MMS117 had been released today... the figure so many of you claim you LOOOOVE so much... it would have been SKEWERED with criticisms of inaccuracies (many of which are quite substantiated).

Just have a little perspective. Take your troll lenses off and be an intelligent objective person.:slap

At the end of the day... for all the complainers on here... HT is still thriving. So cheers to you the very very vocal minority.

I swear most of the time I feel like those demanding perfection are just broke and without the financial freedom and disposable income to justify a purchase unless its this unattainable level of 'perfect'... fact is its easier to convince everyone else how right they are (including themselves) just to make themselves feel better... i mean "look at how strange the right earlobe is!!!" "I can see 1 nanometer under the jawline--TERRIBLE!" "I know right! This is a piece of ****!"

I think these few shots are the best so far for Dx10. I think it's better than MMS117.

You don't understand, so I will try to be clear--everyone is entitled to whatever opinion they hold, and they are free to share their opinions on figures on this forum. The problem is when people post things like "I don't see how anyone can think this isn't perfect" or "I don't see how anyone can think that this isn't ****." Opinion on the figure is irrelevant. The focus on other collectors rather than the figure itself is, in fact, borderline trolling, and it is annoying. It has always been annoying, it will always be annoying.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

The first really good overall comparison I've seen.

The body may have improved range of movement but it seems to be the same size and shape as the old one when dressed. Thats disappointing because they've always had him too big.

The head does look like an improvement though still not what I'd call perfect.

Thats what I've been campaigning about lately.

Nice level headed, calm, non-biased post there Wake? But at least you prefixed it with IMO. :lol Why attack people for not liking the figure?

I don't understand HT apologists constantly bring up expensive HAND MADE custom figures which are made in tiny numbers, everytime someone knocks HT's latest release. Hand made, that means they cost a lot more to make. If you decide you love something and can afford it, why not?

But WTF does it have to do with DX10 or HT? Seriously?

HT are supposed to be the pinnacle of mass manufactured collectible toys. And they led the race for a long time. Until money became the major force driving them. Short term sales have nothing to do with long term stability with a very picky market. If HT lose their cool factor they are screwed. We all collect toys, but we don't want the things to actually look toyish. There has been a drop in quality with HT, and they are losing hold of their position in the market because of it. Maybe a good kick up the backside from EB might put them back on course. I certainly hope it will. :dunno
