Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I forgot about that actually. But yeah you'd never see the same from Hot Toys I don't think.

One thing I think my shots show is all the sculpted lines on his face particularly around the eyes. The T2 wrinkles are there. Its just the overall lack of skin texturing and the paintjob making him look young in most pics IMO.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

That's the thing with this head sculpt. In some pics he looks fantastic and in others there is just something completely off. I want to love it, but can't. Some shots it looks like Arnold, and then I see one that looks like him but not at this stage in his life. I've put off buying this guy because of it. I did buy a head just to see if it's better inhand (which it probably will be). I'll then decide to add him or not.
dev, your shots are some of the ones leaning me towards getting him. I do see the lack of texture in the skin. He looks like the touched-up Dutch on the newer Predator Blu-rays.

Well, in person it looks like this:

David's pics are excellent as usual but the PERS makes the eyes overly delineated because of thick eyelids and shadow where it ought not to be or where it ought to be less prominent - between the actual eyes and the eyelids. This is how you see it in person. You can however capture it in certain lights where, IMO, thats much less of an issue. Like in my elevator with its white lighting from above.

Yeah the likeness (also aging) is solid, it's a real hard piece to photograph. The camera always picks up the small gap in between the eyelids and eyeballs.

Yeah but you remove PERS and it becomes a MMS rather then a DX :lol

Promise? :lol Aside from the awesome packaging DX is and always will be a lame gimmick.

please note the minigun level.
near the chest, arms bent like it has no weight.
previous body's arms didn't allow that, but these new elbows are designed to bend for the "cyberdyne" scene above.

too high on my photo though.

Thanks for the input P. If I post anymore, I will try to do a better job.:)

So true. One of the hardest figures to photograph. I've seen pics that make him look awesome with a very soft sculpt. If I'd only saw those I don't think I would have bought him. Never have I seen a figure go from fail to Grail seemingly over night.

What's this...pose police?

This is one of those headsculpts that suffers from light shining underneath, all other angles are just fine and like A-dev said with proper lighting from say above it will show of the detail really well.

Realy loved the broken window frame someone posted a long ,long time ago in a thread far far away, but made the mingun scene realy cool. Just need a small broken frame in front of your t2 and bam cyberdine building set up scene.

can't imagine my Jack Sparrow or 89 Bats w/o PERS. would suck big time to have them staring into the distance all the time. I will agree that some figures/characters are made for it and others (like the DX10) are not. But I've never seen this "googly" eyes that ppl like to throw around or them look bad to me when they were in hand (except for DX03 MJ). Don't care what pics make them look like. if they look alright in hand that's all the matters to me. This figure, while I don't think it needs or really benefits from PERS, I don't think it looks bad in hand either

This is one great figure- I like the DX PERs feature.
I'm stunned this one isn't sold out yet...

One thing- are the pants real leather like the jacket? Mine feel like different material....

how this figure didn't come with something like this I will never know... but the person who made should seriously get someone fired at HT!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

More pages of great pics, everyone.

A-dev, your shots are the best I've seen yet of the DX10 without sunglasses.

I just bought Stay Hungry on eBay, one of the few Arnold movies I haven't seen yet.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

@A-dev : I don't like my picture but thanks anyway.
The DX10 is quite hard to photograph especially in close-ups but you managed to do it justice with all your sets. ;)

I like the PERS inclusion. I wasn't sure about this feature but it's really great in person.

Surprisingly, I don't like the DX HS with the sunglasses. It doesn't fit well the head IMO.
