Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

If it forces either company to up their quality, who cares?

Like always, in the end, you either buy it or you don't. :dunno

True - but what annoys me is that this pissing war gives the impression that HT is more concerned about trashing EB than making customers happy.

Making customers happy would mean delivering on long forgotten licenses, or making figures from cult classics rather than just big blockbusters.
Yeah, I know it is about making money and it is business. But there is good business and there is bad business. I'd class a company like Apple in the good business category - showing true innovation and making customers happy.

HT used to be like that - now they are better candidates for the bad business category - making products with only profit margins and the demise of their competitors in mind. Customers are nowhere in that equation.

What HT gonna answer ?
"We don't care about what you think, we do what we want and either you buy it or not".

So they and EB have something going. :dunno

They are still puting out quality product. People were wanting a version of this charcter with a Minigun and grenade launcher. So it's not a BD, I'm sure they will get to that as well. Since it's mostly using existing stuff, I'm sure not much resources were pulled from the failed Green Lantern movie figure ect.

Bottom line, I think people on this board just like to _____. :)

HT have got the wrong mind set. It is not a problem for HT at all that Enterbay have started to rival them. Competition is good it helps you up your game. But in business the only worries you should have that you are going to lose in sales to the other company is if you both are trying to sell the same product. HT are doing it arse about face. They are bringing out a product to rival another product thats coming out to try and snuff it out. Which will never work if you spend your whole time trying to stick it to another company instead if trying to better yourself. If EB are releasing a Terminator then HT should release a predator, Magneto, Vader or anything. HT are making EB their competition by trying to release the same items rather than doing what they should be doing and concentrating on items that nobody is releasing. Terminator, Predator, Batman, avengers, iron man ect have all been done to death. All though popular HT should just take a step back and say.. good luck EB im sure you will have great items but we are going to make some Metal gear, Prometheus and X-men.

I'm just seeing this for the first time, and echo the comments of others. Very strange choice IMO, considering we've already seen this. Considering the lack of changes (only the useless f'ing PERS and a few extra accessories) and cost, I'll probably pass.

BUT, silver lining--HT isn't done with Terminator! We may very well still get 1/6 police shootout and T2 BD version!

GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota . .

Kellogs, Post, General Mills . . .

Levis, Wrangler, Guess, Hollister . .

Competition has been going on forever. . .

In the end, i just want a 1/6 Police Shootout. :)

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Enterbay Bill woke up one day and decided he was going to produce the ultimate Bruce Lee figure, he then realized that there was a lot of money to be made and started making figures. The End. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Yeah, I'm all about competition. HT has been the only real game in town for me for a long while now. EB never had the licenses I wanted, and Sideshow had GI Joe which I buy, but they're about 4 years behind HT in terms of paint apps, body, and often accessories.

If this competition helps to put a fire under HT's butt regarding QC issues and getting ignored Terminator figures off the ground, then it's definitely a good thing.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I agree. It is nice to see EB getting licenses for something other than Bruce Lee.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I have a lot of reasons to be loyal to the Hot Toys brand, they have earned my respect as the leaders at what they do. Enterbay are new to me so they have a lot to prove before I consider buying more of their figures. They have to releases a lot more figures before I consider them in HT league.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I have zero brand loyalty when it comes to collectibles. Whatever looks the most accurate to the source material gets my money, whether its licensed figures or customs

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I have no loyalty to any one company. Never will.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

There is a lot to be said about loyalty. There wouldn't be a market for Enterbay if it wasn't for HT.

I can't believe I'm saying... as much as I heart Yulli... the HS is completely off, EB wins this round when it comes to T2, the HD figures look perfect to me.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

You can tell all that from the proto pics? Amazing.

Yulli is a cutie. It does need some tweaks. Being different scales, they aren't comparable products.
