Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I have no axe to grind, just telling it like it is. Ask any owner of a leaky DX02, disintegrated Rambo, or melted Comedian :lol

If they had a genuine competitor over the years, those issues would've lost them a lot of customers, but the competition just isn't there. EB may be a genuine challenger this year though given that they've finally expanded beyond Bruce Lee in a meaningful way

So you think HT has built trust with their disaster QC issues? Wow.

The only reason they are still alive and well is because they're the only game in town. I certainly don't trust HT QC or customer service.

But you trust EB and their flawless GOD Lee :lol

I am yet to own an EB product, The 1/4 Batman will be my first, then we'll see if i trust them :lol

I look foward to the "Is your Enterbay 1/4 Batman Begins figure leaking oil?" thread. :yess:

You aren't seriously trying to suggest that everyone that got these figures experienced these problems. I haven't had any problems with the DX02, Rambo or the Comedian. But I guess it's easy to think that everyone has the problem if you have experienced it yourself. Did the DX02 you sold on ebay have the oil problem?

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I think it's all too easy to get caught up in the hype that this site can generate when a new product gets announced, but do you honestly believe that that hype is the genuine consensus of the market that actually buys their products? HT would be out of business if you believed 80% of the stuff you read in their threads, and Enterbay would be the most successful brand on the planet. It's the serious collectors that keep them growing and expanding and it's precisely because they are making what the fans want. But I'm sure as they grow they will have access to many more licenses' that appeal to them and their fans, but building trust takes a long time and that doesn't happen over night.

Anyway, I wouldn't have a collection if I listened to all the Debbie downers and accuracy obsessive's on this forum. It's become a sport of sorts. But I highly doubt that most that do it actually buy anything at all. :lol
I don't really disagree with you here, and when I say that I think HT releases product that fans want, I'm not saying that they base that on internet complaining and hype exclusively or primarily. But I do think that their primary concern is $$$, and they have a fair understanding of what their collector base wants. I would guess this is based largely on historical sales. Iron Man sells--more Iron Man figures produced. Predator sells--more Predators produced.

And I do think that the pros of HT definitely outweigh their cons, though issues like melty rubber and questionable likenesses on figures like Indy and Luke are something that I would hope HT would at least pay some attention to.

And for the record, I did have a melty DX-02 suit. . .as well as a DX Indy, and have Luke on pre-order *sigh* :lol

When did I say everyone with those figs had a problem? I said 'anyone with a leaky...' etc

The point is a large proportion of people had those problems, which HT did not take care of other than replace suits for some of the early problems withDX02, for collectibles costing $200+, I expect better than that. That's what my point is.

No wonder you're such a HT fanboy, you haven't experienced their wonderful customer service yet :lol

And for the record the one I sold on eBay did suffer from oil initially for almost a year before it stopped leaking. Luckily there was no permanent damage

i STILL HAVE MY WETT DX02 AND I DONT MIND IT , ITS REALLY NOT THAT BAD ANYMORE

Neither do I, that bridge has been burnt, and they know their products sell and no amount of burnt brides will change that.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

LOL just LOL at Hot Toys. sometimes I feel some regret whenever I walk into a comic book store and see a Hot Toys display since I stopped buying them a few months ago, but every time I come to this site to see if they are getting better, they do something ridiculous like this. I stopped collecting because of the milking and it seems the milking as increased even more now.

:rotfl whaaaaaaaaaat?

Burning bridges aside, HT consistently put out the best, the most and timeliest releases (yes Nova will tell us differently--Avatar/SP/Tron L.C. aside). I am not ready to pull my horses from the Hot Toys camp, just yet. I have FOF B.L. and Jack Bauer from EB, both beautiful figures, and the recent T-800/ Leon/Scarface offerings are excellent. Competition in both 1:6th and 1:4th scale are very welcome.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

1:4 T-800 is my first and I am very impressed, if they keep the momentum they will go far.

I think EB is the company to watch over the next three years.

This happened about 5 years ago when SS was the king and a little company called HT came flying in with "kits" and poor likenesses... and look what happened. Could be the same for EB.

Of course, part of HT's success is that SS decided to share with it. I don't see that happeneing between EB and HT. Too much bad blood for whatever reason.

I dont understand how HT milking licenses would stop you collecting

I mean, take Iron Man for example, i love that line but dont care for the variations and Milk editions etc, so i just dont buy them. I buy the ones i like from what i consider to be the 'core' line (you can figure out what that means, lol)

I dont have to buy a black and white war machine, so i dont. Just enjoy the ones that you like!! :)

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I guess folks can get tired of waiting for newer characters or licenses, but I actually like upgrades on the shelf, and am also happy when resources focused on that stuff that I don't want (read: Iron Man rehashes) mean that I have less stuff tempting me to spend my money :lol

:goodpost: my thoughts :exactly:

:rotfl whaaaaaaaaaat?.

QC is pretty bad at times, but their customer service is pretty consistently that they don't care and if they weren't the only or at times best source for some figures I wouldn't support them, nor a lot of other people, but they are so I and a lot of disgruntled customers keep going and that's how they can have a don't care attitude and keep hiking prices, they've got the licenses people want and no other company can have.
