I still love Ht and no matter what the motive(to sell as many figures as possible) I appreciate the chance to get MK I and far better T 800....All this complaining....HT chooses moneymakers....if you don't like them don't buy them but needless bashing of those who DO buy...I don't get it

I think EB is the company to watch over the next three years.

This happened about 5 years ago when SS was the king and a little company called HT came flying in with "kits" and poor likenesses... and look what happened. Could be the same for EB.

Of course, part of HT's success is that SS decided to share with it. I don't see that happeneing between EB and HT. Too much bad blood for whatever reason.

I think the bad blood started when Hot Toys stole enterbay's key bruce lee sculptor Arnie Kim. Ever since, Enterbay has really been gunning at Hot Toys and vice versa.

I dont understand how HT milking licenses would stop you collecting

I mean, take Iron Man for example, i love that line but dont care for the variations and Milk editions etc, so i just dont buy them. I buy the ones i like from what i consider to be the 'core' line (you can figure out what that means, lol)

I dont have to buy a black and white war machine, so i dont. Just enjoy the ones that you like!!

the milking was part of the reason. the biggest reason was that the prices were getting out of control and it did not feel good when i would save up to buy a figure i really wanted only to have them release a better version of it a year later. it took a lot of fun out of the collecting part of buying figures.

this is especially true for regular characters, not the special editions. for example, i bought the first joker only for them to release the bank robber one with the accurate sculpt. then they released the dx and now the dx version 2. where does it stop and how am i suppose to know which one to buy at that point in time?

The amount of negativity towards a toy is quite staggering!
Or is it just a case that some guys just need a girlfriend? As I cannot imagine why folks get so irate about a toy.

Between dudes here and the super twats on facebook, I don't know what to think.
You'd swear Hot Toys were abducting first borns or something.

I didn't see anyone bashing people who are buying the set. They're bashing HT. The only people that get bashed are the people who criticise HT. They're the ones that get called 'whiners'.

Again, the complainers aren't attacking people who like the figure. Their annoyance is at HT. Where are you getting this?

And for the record I am buying this figure, maybe twice...plus parts.

Its true theres been a shocking amount of complaining and anger over this figure but I see that directed at Hot Toys - not at other members of the forum. Lets not invent antagonism between eachother here. Why get uppity because people aren't happy with the big company? You like the figure, buy it, great.

That was just another HT move, this goes back years. First thing I can remember is the Godfather, HT and EB were making him at the same time and it was a back and forth trying to outdo each other, I believe EB announced first. EB is not all innocent, they did Prison Break figures after HT did. It's gotten worse lately though, to the point where HT will prematurely announce things to stick it to EB. They announced a yet to be revealed Angelica POTC figure to show off chalice accessories that could go with Jack Sparrow after the EB/Medi Sparrow pics went public and comments were made about items EB/Medi had but not HT, and HT says it was the licensor that made them use a smirking Jack portrait instead of their revealed prototype, but when the net flooded with people praising EB for using the smirk and saying HT's face looke silly, it's no wonder the final HT head is the same expression. Now, we get a mostly re-released 1/6 figure announcement and a photoshopped 1/4 announcement from HT as EB reveals new products.

The feud pays off in cases like Sparrow and Godfather when they're doing the same thing at the same time, but gets off putting with things like Terminator and Prison Break where same things keep getting done trying to top each other instead of moving on and focusing solely on the customers.

LOL just LOL at Hot Toys. sometimes I feel some regret whenever I walk into a comic book store and see a Hot Toys display since I stopped buying them a few months ago, but every time I come to this site to see if they are getting better, they do something ridiculous like this. I stopped collecting because of the milking and it seems the milking as increased even more now.

Not only are they milking the licenses with re-releases, but it seems that they are also flooding the market with these figures in terms of sheer quantity. For example, The hot toys predator line use to sellout fast, especially their Limited edition preds, (guardian predator sold out in like 5 mins after it was released). Now, their preds just sit on the shelves of retailers collecting dust-i.e: the "limited edition" shadow pred. has been out for several months now still available for sale, and same with Tracker pred. Hot Toys seems to be spitting on the faces of the very collectors who helped make them what they are today.

Going to have to agree. The war is between Enterbay and Hot toys, and the casualties are the collectors.

Lets all remember, with discussion of products will come discussion about the companies making them.

In this case, HT frustration is emerging and it is centered around this figure.

People are being civil to each other so there's no issue unless that changes.

You would be happy with folks acting like this all the time I assume?!

I think this figure is dissapointing but I am not going to take it as some great offense which some folks seem to be doing.

I think it's very odd behaviour personally.

^Their too boring for my liking. Sure the end product is nice (most of the time) But their are other companies who pick more exciting licenses and don't milk them till their dry.

You are intitled to your opinion but, enterbay does not even come close to having more exciting licenses than hot toys.

They do have more exciting licenses, they just don't do much or anything with them, that's the issue

Why would the customers be the casualties? Isnt a a competitive market a good thing for customers? Having two companies trying to one up each other should mean we as customers get more/better releases.

Should is key word there.

I found a Hot Toys Sarah Connor for $160 on Amazon so I pulled the trigger on this guy because I missed the first one. The original goes for insane prices on the secondary market so this is fine for me.
