Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics
That feature was one of the things that first made my jaw drop when the first pics of MMS117 came in. We'd already seen NECA do it at that point if memory serves but the final figure came out rather less good than their 2up prototype. With HT I knew it would have working pistons and articulated fingers and the idea of that was so cool. And I got that same buzz in seeing the chip-removal feature in DX10.
I believe you were the first to do the arm swap, yes. I don't know if I'd have had the courage otherwise. Turns out it was pretty easy as long as you have the right screwdriver.
I think the hand on mine is a permanent fist pretty much. I adjusted the angle of attachment of the thumb to be more natural but I think I had to break it to do so and might have accidentally broke some other fingers I can't remember.
The arm-shortening itself was a bit of a trade-off. It renders the endo fore-arm a little innaccurate but I found that preferable to having the arm noticeably too long.
The bloody flesh tendrils are actually just blue-tac - painted blood red. I don't expect them to last forever, in fact I noticed they've 'broken' and paint has come off in one place.
^ Excellent! The endo arm is the one missing thing that makes my DX10 feel incomplete.

that bloody veins & flesh pieces you added are really cool. i've seen them once on V-Raptor figure, now i see it for the second time only since the MMS117 was made.
proportions of the shortened arm are very natural now. and hiding fingers into a fist was useful to hide the HT strange idea of human palm skeleton (which fail they succesfully transferred to the "New Old Endoskeleton).
all in all it looks so close to movie shot now!
but i still was the first to swap hands & bodies for that purpose, still was the first to swap hands & bodies![]()
