I think this will be delayed simply on the ideal that they know they need to get it right especially with all the expert angst. I have a feeling though it'll be amazingly worth it.

If the ANH helmet is your Vader of choice though, I can't imagine a better or more definitive piece to add to your collection. EFX is certainly injecting a lot of excitement into Star Wars collecting."

I got news for you Broccoli:
The EB and ROTJ are also two-toned -- Black and Gunmetal (less gunmetal around the mouth), but two-toned nonetheless.
darker lenses, correct , and high gloss finish overall/ just looks blacker due to the shininess

The only ALL black helmet was the Sith version

That should effectively end any silly debates right there (but sadly, it won't).

Thanks for posting this ... goes to show that there's an awful lot of thought and meticulous decision-making, based on practicality and ultimate collector satisfaction, made for these helmets. I like that this thing is being made with such TLC.

Another reason why it blows. :lol

I do like the fact that the ESB and ROTJ have those highlights -- it adds to the character of the sculpt -- makes the eyes deeper, the angles stronger, and creases all the edges...

Have to say, the Sith version looks really nice from the front view at a low angle though -- looks as mean as the ANH -- ONLY from that angle (not great from a 3/4 like the OT -- not the one they used on the Ultimate Vader book cover, slightly higher...and it's one mean-lookin s.o.b. -- Ilike that it's a little different but still uses the s-curve side of the OT's face

I think its quite unlikely for efx to produce Esb and rotj vader helmets because they are quite similar to anh and I don't see the average star wars fan who already owns the anh helmet, snapping u the Esb or rotj. UNLESS it is a Rotj Reveal...every collector only needs two vader helmets... Anh and rotj reveal.

There were only 1250 ANH helmets made (including the Legend). Most average SW fans (even collectors) didn't get one. There's definitely a market for further Vader helmets from eFX. Just not right away.

I think they'll do a ROTJ Reveal in a couple years, and then ESB down the road.

Since I'm no expert. I'm curious is there anywhere I can look to see all of the actual imperfections that are in the original (actual) helmet that everyone is talking about. I mean other than the obvious ones, what else is there that was left out, or cleaned up on the Legend that has a few experts up in arms? I'd like to see what they are.

That would be hard to find. Many owners of the original molds don't want to show these. There was even a talk about a map of the imperfections, but no pics yet.

Let's not forget the overwhelming appeal of this helmet is its origin, an original Rick Baker mold. I find it hard to accept there would be as much interest in an Empire mask without the same distinguishing factor. This is all just speculation, but to find another 1,250 people to plunk down $800 to $1,000 for a freshly-sculpted Empire helmet would be a hard thing to do. A ROTJ reveal, with its striking interior intricacies, is a totally different animal and IMO would be a rousing success regardless of its pedigree.
