It will be complete when I have a plaque with Prowse's signature on it. I figure I have more than enough time to have one created and mail it to him. I'd like to have Jones' too but Prowse for sure.

I am excited they included the sculptor's signature though.

Not happy with the increase in edition size but doesn't bother me that much, glad more people can get in on it.

I don't mind that they increased the number -- heck, that could've been me who got a confirmation - after doing all the right things, and then getting an email saying, "oops we goofed-- it just LOOKED like you got one!"
-- I'm sure this made a lot of "heartsick" folks very happy...and I'm happy for them.

Ultimately, an additional 114 units will not affect value much at all... but the addition of the print and Muir signature will increase it, if anything.

For $200 more than the Limited (which doesn't have a signature or the additional print) the Legend is now an outright steal.

Absolutely! I couldn't afford the legend though I was so close to buying it then it hit me I wasn't ready to miss a mortgage payment to get it so I went for the less accurate helmet which by eFX it should still be AWESOME!!!!:chew:yess::blissy:mexwave

With an extra 100 grand in the bank I hope so to.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

It will be interesting to see how the packaging comes out (that's what she said :lecture).

I am looking forward to having Muir's sig with this.
Now I just have to hope I stumble into Jones and Prowse someday.

Does anyone know what kind of pen eFX uses to autograph items like this? Is it a Sharpie?

Late to the game, but just read my eFx email and couldn't be more upset. The 250 edition size was a big, big selling point on this piece. This is a mistake that never should have happened, ever. eFx misjudged the demand for the most desirable Vader collectible in retail history?? Are you ----ing kidding me??!! This is an ugly situation that begins and ends with eFx. Rather than internally working out there own web shortcomings in keeping the 250, they place their failures in our lap. The print and auto is a slap in the face. Send that fluff to the extra 114 people. I ordered (originally) a helmet with an edition size of 250.

I did too. But, see... what if you were one of the 114? Nobody really accurately knows who made it in before the 250 was reached. Just because we got an order in, none of us knows if we were one of the actual 250, or part of the 114. It would be an absolute mess if they had to tell 114 people who thought they scored this that their orders were cancelled. Again, that could have been you. Could have been me too.

Yep, while it is their mess up and they MUST fix this problem, they did the right thing by increasing the order size to make sure all order confirms they sent out were honored.

If I was one of the 114, then so be it. I logged on never thinking I would actually score one. So be it. Life goes on. And if I didn't get an order in, I would be looking in on the ones who did and feel sorry that they just got royally screwed by Efx. The edition size, IMO, is untouchable, especially after you previously announce it is locked at 250. I might have a different opinion if there was fine print, "...edition size may change, etc. etc..." This is a $1,000.00 item. And there are certain appreciative expectations that come along with that price tag which are now only further stretched out because of eFx's incompetence.

You are seriously over-reacting. This thing will still appreciate in value and will be worth more in the market than its retail price before you even get it.

Besides, at the end of the day the Legend helmet I'm getting will be easily worth the $1000 price whether the ES is 250, 364, or 10,000.

Well, we all have our opinions and we buy for different reasons. I enjoy collecting limited items only. And while 364 is indeed limited, it's not the previously promised 250.

I think you mean that its intrinsic value is unchanged, and that's true. But to be realistic, if the edition size was 10,000 you would be able to pick one of these up at a drastically reduced price after they sat in warehouses for months. Edition size does matter. For example, I bought a Weta King Kong vs. V-Rex statue a couple of years ago brand new for less than 1/5th the original price, and it's pretty much entirely because they made way too many of them (4,000 as I recall).

Of course I don't see this helmet selling for less than retail price, but when you consider that a lot of people who might have wanted the Legend are going to "settle" for the LE (thus removing potential demand), increasing the edition size of the legend by 46% is kind of a big deal. I'm not up in arms about it or anything, and I think eFX did the best they could in the circumstances. But it is true that the item we though we were preordering has changed (both for the good and the bad).

Well, you can always cancel it and get your deposit refunded if it bothers you that much.

I'm in because I want the most authentic ANH Vader helmet I can have, period. I think this could basically be the ultimate item to have in a SW collection. It's all about the helmet itself to me.

And whether it was 364 or 250 units, it still sold out in under 5 minutes with an instant deposit of $350 and a $1000 retail price. That speaks volumes.

Cancelling is something I'm considering. Though I always sleep on emotionally-charged decisions.
