I'm all in for this hand painted version!

With almost everyone going for the hand painted version, I just hope eFX will take this into consideration when making the edition size...

Oh, I don't really know. But it stands to reason that a hand-painted version would be more. I personally would probably prefer a slightly idealized paint job, so I don't think I'd get the hand painted one.

I was thinking max $1,200ish but that seems high but with hand painted I can't get a feel for what it might be.

The idea besides the money is to see how the hand painted helmet looks like. Thus more pics are needed.

I think it may be something like this:
Regular version $400-$600
Hand painted $800-$1000

That may be wishful thinking. I remember hoping the McVader would be no more than $600, but it finally arrived at $900. Now this "real Vader" helmet will have a larger edition size indeed than that of the McVader at 250, which should help to decrease the cost overall. But for hand painted, I don't think we will see a price lower than the McVader.

Therefore I predict:
Regular: $700
Hand Painted: $1200 and possibly as high as $1500, and highly dependent upon how many are ultimately produced

If it's like the McVader, my only other eFX piece, it will be very close to preorder time. Probably not during SDCC.

no one think EFX will made one version signature edition? Why not hand painted version signed?

there is now way an official Lucas licensed piece will allow Prowse to sign anything, just ain't gonna happen. Maybe James Earl Jones, but no Prowse.

That's amazing! But how comfortable is it, LOL?

I'm sure it is not very comfortable, but when getting one I don't intend walking in the streets with the Vader helmet on :D

The funny thing is that I always considered the rough ANH Vader helmet to be a sort of battle damaged helmet, especially after watching the Prequels and knowing more about the Jedi purge. I'm sure Vader didn't have just a single helmet, he must had many (like we have shirts;)), but in that time he was using this combat rough one. Also he evolved during the Saga and maybe that is another reason he started using more polished helmets.

I think it also has to do with his status in the Empire's hierarchy. In ANH, he was outside of the command system, the Emperor's private goon. By ESB, he had real authority and served as the Emperor's representative as well as a symbol of the splendor and might of the Empire itself. I think that kind of status requires some armor-all.

Yeah, people actually give him lip in ANH don't they? Sure they regret it, but they try!
