I picked up my pre-order for the game at work at Best Buy. I'm about to jump into the world of Skyrim! :yess:

I also got the big hardcover Collector's Edition strategy guide from Prima Games. If you get it, you can get access to a nice interactive world map on their website. Another nice bonus! I got this book with my remaining store credit from trading in a bunch of games for it, and after using the credit to get Skyrim. It's gotta be the BIGGEST strategy guide I've ever seen! Over 660 pages!

Yeah, Leo that map inside the game box is really nice! It feels something like what old parchment paper would feel like. Very cool. :)

I played for about an hour. Looks very cool already. The environments are a huge step up from Oblivion. I went with a lizard guy. Sorry, I'm not an ES expert. I'm liking the new looting set up and the favorites feature. It's cool that you can rotate and zoom in on every object you pick up. It's a small touch that adds a nice layer of detail and fun to looting.

Broke down and got this from Best Buy today. This will be my only video game purchase out of the recent wave of game releases, so I hope I made the right choice. (I'm pretty sure I did.)

Bethesda Addresses Skyrim Xbox 360 Graphics Issues
Advises not to install.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a great-looking game, but the Xbox 360 version is having some issues. According to Bethesda, the game has trouble scaling textures on the Xbox 360 and may not perform properly when installed to the system's hard drive.

"Skyrim uses a lot of dynamic streaming systems, including textures. We've seen a few reports of certain textures temporarily scaling down on the Xbox 360, and not scaling back up," Bethesda said on its official forums. "We have verified that this issue does not occur when playing off the disk and when the game is fully cached (not installed)."

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Video Review

"Skyrim makes heavy use of the Xbox 360 caching system, and caches over the normal course of play while in menus or interiors. This cache can be wiped when other games are played or when the user manually removes it."

Bethesda added that a fix is on the way and will be released in the next title update for the game.

I've been hearing about this, but it's good to get an official statement. I was going to install, so good to know. Hope they patch it cause installing would probably cut down on load times.

What does installing a game on the 360 mean????? They said if you play off the disk it will be fine, but if you insall there will be problems. I'm going to get this in a bit.

You have the option to install when placing the game in the xbox this makes for faster load times etc, that is good information to know about this game, no biggie as im sure they can get it fixed but definatly good to know thank you.

I had a HUGE land of grass just unloaded last night. It freaked me out but I kept playing anyway but it was very frustrating to look at. Uninstalling, methinks.

Interesting about install problems on xbox ...i have one of the original 2006 models with the 20gig harddrive so installing is not really an option anyway :D

I'm about 10 hours into Skyrim now.
Its interesting that leveling up is 95% about the perks now. They are what really change the way you play.

suddenly so many great games coming out within this month...

bF3 (finished, no time to try the MP yet)
