Re: London riots

Was it just last year the youth rioted BECAUSE of school tuition going up?

I think the youth of the world are realizing that the system is stacked against them.

I'm not saying they got raw deal, just that people are realizing they are graduating from college in debt, subservient at work, easily replaced, and unmotivated and untrained to do anything about it.

Maybe I am just speaking for myself, but everything in my education was directed at being placed into some conglomerate that I can't take true ownership or satisfaction for.

What I am trying to say is that entrepreneurial spirit has been watered out of society. We all work for giant companies, everyone is tied to success and failure of everyone else and the whim of stock holders. Thus when things hit the skids we all sink together. Even the few small businesses still left suffer because some real estate conglomerate decides they need to raise the rent.

I am rambling.

Re: London riots

We had the race riot in Los Angeles in the early '90s because of the Rodney King beating, and the low-life thugs saw that as an opportunity to loot and vandalize their own neighborhoods.

After Hurricane Katrina there were gang members looting areas and firing on National Guardsmen who were down there to help.

Or the idiots worldwide who riot because their favorite sports team WON the championship. That I never got. Watching the Steelers win 2 super Bowls, the last think I wanted to do was set something on fire or flip a car over. Watching them lose 2 Super Bowls pissed me off, but not nearly enough to resort to violence against people who had absolutely nothing to do with it, or who did for that fact.

Just like stated earlier on, you have miserable pricks who take advantage of situations involving large groups of people to incite riots, just so they can get away with their crimes or get some adrenaline rush out of being in the midst of one.

Re: London riots

To all UK freaks, stay safe and hope things calm down soon.

Im surprised that so many kids even dare to cause so much problems,it is really sad!
So all of this started because of a shooting incident where a man was killed by the police?

Thats debatable. He was a gang member, a thief and a drug dealer. Not really a man, more of a cancer.

Re: London riots

All this looting by young people isn't because they are from a poor background.Even those kids get almost anything they want..blackberries and pumped up kicks:wink1:

Around the time my daughter was born 10 years ago there was a big thing about what parents can or can't do to chastise their children which was made into law..giving kid the uperhand becuase they no they cant even be spanked.

and for the last 7 years all children up to 16 go free on the bus network so you can be sure most of these scumbags were getting a free ride at the publics expense at some point of their evening entertainment

Re: London riots

____ing nut jobs - police or govt is going to do nothing, pathetic

This isn't the Police's fault. The Government always ties the Police's hands.

When the Police do their job the Government condemn the Police for being too harsh/rough. When the Police stand back they get condemned for doing very little. It's a no win situation.

An example from last year. The hypocrisy.

The UK Sony Distribution Centre, gone. :/

This is going to hike all taxes/insurance for everyone and put the UK back into a recession if not worse...

It's good that a building burned down and people might have been killed? And it's good that it's going to cost a ____load of money to put things back to right? Think before you speak my friend.
