people riot for no reason. people just love to break things.
when l was a kid, a friend of my dad was bulldozing his old cabin to build a new one. Me and my brother were allowed to smash all the windows and break things. I will admit it was a lot of fun.
So in a situation like this people know they have a license to do what ever they want with littler risk of getting in trouble. So they break things because it is fun. A riot is like a big party for dumb people who don't care about other peoples possesions or the law.
