I had to gently manipulate one of the arms of the sunglasses on mine to get it hook over his ear. Now the glasses on mine seem to fit very well.

VHS tapes. I remember they seemed to be around forever but then how quickly DVD took over and completely replaced them.

Blu-Ray will do it to DVD, but not as quickly, many movies saw several DVD releases as quality improved, with BR, being an HD format and not just something new, there's an expected quality and you can't just put any old movie onto it, older ones need to go through clean up processes. It seemed like DVD would put ____ty quality copies of movies out just to have them on the new format.
