Dusty have an idea.
Perhaps sideshow could offer more reward point for EU collector.
Spend 1$ and have 1.5 reward point to compensate :)

i was thinking the same, but it has no sense...they should do this for every international customer..

On the other hand, the main complaint of International (non-EU) collectors is the cost of the shipping fee

:lecture

One of the main reasons why I don't purchase direct or get any Exclusives, so looking forward to seeing what the new rates will be, especially with the Evil Queen PF that I have on order.

Q: Can you show examples of total shipping costs between a EU warehouse shipment and a direct shipment from the U.S.?

A: We have provided a few examples below. Please keep in mind that VAT rates may vary from country to country. Also some customs offices may charge additional duty on certain products being imported such as artwork and metal replica items, however a good portion of our products are duty free through the EU. Please contact your country's Customs office with questions about VAT and customs fees.

Ok new shipping cost is very low.
Will wait to see this on invoice.

The only part which is bad is this:
Not happy with your item? Our 30-Day Return Policy has you covered so contact our Returns department to assist you! Sideshow will refund the product price and you can seek a refund of your VAT from your customs office by completing the necessary refund paperwork and presenting the original receipt from FedEx for the customs fees. Please not that you will not be reimbursed the initial shipping fee that Sideshow charged or the Advancement Service fee paid to FedEx.

Deals with customs and fedex for refund is pretty bad

Obviously those totals don't include the 8% duty. It is a nice touch on the $25 gift cards. Will this be a one off deal?

That's until shipping goes up,which is about twice a year.

perhaps yes perhaps no.
We will see in futur like sideshow

With coming orders we will see If sideshow new shipping method is good, same or bad.

They estimate fedex fees and I have a doubt with duty, but this quote seems to be the same as actual.

If sideshow is ready to offer a 25$ GC my idea with reward point is not bad

Hey guys - the gift card gets switched out every week in 2010 so as long as you do not have orders shipping in the same week you should get different gift cards that you can use with each shipment. You just wont be able to combine the cards together. So on your next in stock order the card savings should bring the costs even lower! *** Plus we can now have opportunity to include promotional items like calendars, shirts and other goodies that the domestic customers have received.

Keep in mind all carriers adjust their shipping rates based on fuel costs, etc. The EU warehouse carriers did that frequently and were scheduled to do this in January, which would mean a raise in those rates too. Also handling fees through that UK fulfillment house were due to be increased as well to offset increasing facility expenses.

New rates and gift cards apply to all direct shipments from US warehouse to international customers.

If you have any more questions be sure to e-mail us directly. Dusty does a great 'hunt and gather' but she can miss some questions. We will try to address any new questions with in our 'Ask Sideshow' articles or even update this Q and A posted tonight.

Music to my ears at least. This means if it only costs like $30 to ship a Blackbeard PF to the UK it should be very comparable to ship out to Canada unlike the current ridiculous prices of close to $70

Do these new shipping rates from FedEx mean that ‘other’ overseas customers (non-EU) will also be getting less expensive shipping, for instance down to Australia or up to Canada?

Absolutely!

Hope sideshow will include calendar and ornament on eu backordered order during B&W 50% off as items were in stock in US and now they will send from US like dracula/blade diorama. :D

Just be aware that all International customers have to send an email to participate in these promos, since the addition of extra goodies may up the size of the box, which can mean higher shipping - and we don't automatically assume that that's okay with everyone... the instructions are on this page: https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=7943 (same with the calendar too) ... include your qualifying order number when emailing!

*International Participation Welcome
International clients will be responsible for VAT, duties or import fees and possible shipping fees assessed on delivery of the free item. Due to customs requirements, the promotional item will need to be assigned a value of at least US$1, which is unavoidable. Sideshow Collectibles will not assume to automatically include a Dinosauria Ornament item with your qualifying international order, as it will cause you to incur additional expenses. Therefore you must contact us via e-mail at [email protected] to request for us to include this item within your shipment. You can also request a rough shipping quote at that time for the promotional item.

Wouldn't mind knowing the postage cost of the Blackbeard PF direct to Australia now.

Not that I plan on getting that one, but it would have to be a fairly big and heavy PF, so if that's like $35-40USD in postage now, then that's a whole lot of win. Basically as good as having a warehouse in Australia.
One would assume the smaller, lighter items would be cheaper still.

where are the examples in ss's site????

edit:found it...the new shipping rates are very low, hope they remain as low as they are now,though...hope it's not a ss's trick...

And is that the only extra fee to be added to the example total that they've posted? :)

Dusty when does all this kick in I'm thinking of ordering something from the EU warehouse that's in stock will I be hit with new charges?
