Portugal played with plenty of rhythm in their victory and have one of the best midfields in the tourny but defensively still look suspect against set pieces.
Germany played so unlike their usual selves showing little composure whilst Croatia played excellently and showed on their day they can compete with anyone.Both will go through you would think with no hosts to be left in the tournament.Hope Romania can pull off a draw or an unlikely victory which would knock the world champs out of the tournament.

I'm still not counting on them getting through to the semi-finals tho. One good match doesn't mean they'll play like that every time. Today is the second match, against France. Also a strong team, so I'm hoping "our" team will pull it off again, like their first match.

The Dutch on the rampage and not playing that boring style they previously played under Van Basten.Definately hoping they or Spain can take it.
Now that Italy are on the brink i wonder if Holland will play a much weakened team and somehow lose to Romania to say goodbye to the world champs.

I'd say its a given that the Dutch will rest alot of there top players.

Yeah they would have anyway given that they have qualified top no matter what happens in the last matches but will they rest just a few more than they usually would.
Hopefully both games end in draws which means Romania qualifies which i think they would deserve after not losing in such a tough group.

Yea Romania has earned it,lets hope they get a result to put them through to the knockout rounds. Its pretty cool to see the two teams that were in the last WC final battling it out for a chance to make it through....it will be funny as heck if they both have to go home after the group stage.
I hope Romania go through with Holland as Italy and France are the biggest cheats and whiners in European football,the group match between the two will likely resemble a diving competition as opposed to a football match.

Spain are pretty much through along with the Dutch so i'm happy.
I just hope that the Netherlands haven't peaked to early,we will see.
Would love to see some attractive attacking semis with the above teams making it alongside maybe Portugal possibly Czechs,Germany or Croatia as the fourth team all depending on the draw of course.
Been some good matches hopefully they continue to play quality open football.

Holland and Croatia have been the teams I've enjoyed watching most so far,Portugal have been OK too but I don't think they'll do much else as Cristiano Ronaldo has a tendency to go missing when it really matters.
Great, great matches today!! Turkey???!! Just amazing! What a comeback. And Portugal lost too. Seems like all the good teams are losing. Great tournament so far.

Yeah..add the fact the turkey goalkeeper got sent off and it was an unbelievable last 10 mins
what a mistake by petr cech though....usually the best keeper in europe
