Well, I don't know where else to post this...... But if some of you remember I was going through the numerous interviews with the Apple store to land a position in their retail store..... After three rounds of interviews, I MADE IT!!!!! They are now running a background check, then after that I will be on my way to working for Apple...... SO SWEET!!!!!!! :banana

:rock Nice. What position are you getting?? I was thinking about applying for a genius position last year, but gave up because I don't have a strong computer background.

Thanks :D

I'm going to be a part-time specialist, working the retail floor. I think it's a perfect gig for me while I'm in school pursuing a career in Digital Media. I've found myself much more social and outgoing, and I think this will just compliment everything in my life right now

I'm not sure HOW strong of a background you need for the "genius" position with Apple, but it's totally worth a shot! :clap I will say that the competition is FIERCE to work for Apple... I couldn't believe how many applicants and stages there were to get hired.... And they've repeatedly said this, but they're very picky about who they hire! But don't let that discourage you! Just be confident and just show you're ambitious, and the rest will fall into place :exactly:

^^ Congrats, Chris! :hi5:

Just put the new update on my 3Gs and the reception is horrible now!!! I can hardly get a signal to make a call from my office and previously I never had an issue.

I'm not going to get this since I have a 3GS.

Apple is making some serious claims that all phones have the issue when holding the left side.

Steve Jobs is doing a good job though in showing its mostly hype. Here are the early return numbers for the last two iPhones

iphone-reception-pc-0911-rm-eng.jpg

"In the early days of the iPhone 3GS return rates were 6%... below the average, we were happy with that... so for the iPhone 4? You think half the people must be returning their phones with what you read online... well it's 1.7% -- less than a third of the 3GS returns."

This data (if solid) absolutely decimates the credibility of the online tech bloggers, and even Consumer Reports. I mean Apple just absolutely faced them.

I get the message. Unless you do your homework 100%, don't ____ with Steve Jobs. :lol

He is admitting that there is a problem with the antenna because of the call drop rates. He is working the PR Machine though:

"Now when we look at this data, it's hard to escape the conclusion that there is a problem, but that problem is affecting a very small number of users. I get emails saying the phone works perfectly, and they can't understand what this is all about. So we think it's affecting a small batch, but it has to do with inherent problems in smartphones. But we want all of our users to be happy."

Tech bloggers don't have any credibility anyway. As for Consumer Reports, they just proved that the problem exists, which Apple admitted to.

The bloggers will just find something else about Apple to whine about. Apple = page hits.

Consumer Reports simply took what the bloggers were saying and singled out Apple. They did NOT discover the problem nor did they do the same due diligence with the other Smartphones. Hence credibility shot.

Agreed. They made it seem that it was a problem solely with the iPhone 4.

"A free case for every iPhone 4 buyer. If you got one, we'll give you a refund."

"So I have some other updates. We're tracking some problems with the proximity sensor and we're working on it. White iPhone, we're going to start shipping at the end of the month."

"And if you're not happy, you can bring the phone back. We'll give you a full refund within 30 days. No restocking fee. We want to make everyone happy, and if we can't make you happy we'll give you a full refund."

Apple is definitely trying to make it right.

"We can't make enough bumpers. No way we can make enough in the quarter. So we're going to source some cases and give you a choice."

I wonder what the other case will be...

White iPhone for Kabuki at the end of the month!!!

Edit...doesn't look like they're taking orders yet though Kabuki
