There have been a bunch of set reports online (AICN, Collider, etc) in the last couple of days. Of particular interest (to me) are hints that it can be interpreted as a sequel rather than a reboot.
Other than being B&W they are not even close. And since Evil Dead inspired CITW (which I love, BTW) that comes out to a sum of...carry the 1...Celticpwned can suck it.

So, I found the Evil Dead remake script online, felt like reading a few pages before I went to bed......well, I finished it one sitting. HOLY ****. If they keep it as good, and as nasty as the script...then man, we got a great remake on the horizon. It stays TRUE to the source, but still does something new with it.
I'm actually surprised they're going 100% real effects, with ZERO CGI. Some of these things sound like something a lesser director would just file under "We'll do it in post". But no. If they keep to their word, it's going to be a brutal, badass, new addition to the Evil Dead franchise. I'm excited.
