Holy ****! just noticed that the director is the Uruguayan Federico Alvarez! :rock

He got famous after he did this music video with a few bucks.

This movie might even be a good horror movie, I might even give it that. But as an Evil Dead movie it still doesn't look good.

Yeah, the appeal of the Evil Dead movies (original) is closely related to the appeal of Ash. Of course, Raimi's ideas and direction were also critical, but without Campbell's great performances it would have been much easier to overlook and forget.

I'll never understand Hollywood's need to name-drop for films like this. Wouldn't it be better to rename it something else, come up with an original concept and have a brand new franchise to pump out? Instead, they'll play off of name recognition, it'll fail in comparison to the original largely being scoffed by the fans, and only confusing new fans, and they'll move on to yet some other property to remake next year. It makes no sense. :cuckoo: :lol

:exactly: Campbell is why I watched them. The crazy self centered anti-hero! :lol

But that's ED2/AoD Ash, he's anything but that in the original ED. Ashley was the equivalent of the "good girl" from any F13/NOES flick, which is why his absence in this remake doesn't really bother me. They should never bother trying to remake ED2, that one was lightning in a bottle, and you can't recast Ash. That's one of those roles that inextricable from the actor.

No arguments here! Couldn't of said it better. :exactly:

I don't like the actors or this even being called Evil Dead, the cheering at the end of the trailer..ffs..relax excite bikes..XD

I have no interest in this whatsover...I'm curious about the similarities to the earlier version but that's it...if it's on Netflix streaming maybe I'll watch it...otherwise no...

No films are scary these days. Hollywood has lost it's mojo when it comes to scaring people.

Films are not scary anymore because what you don't realize is...you have been desensitized

constant watching and the unknowingly conditioning of the mind by watching intense things/horror..you get use to it..

there were many movies that scared me as a kid/teen- like 'Demons' and 'The Exorcist'...but today,to my own unliking, nothing scares me anymore in Horror movies

My Nephew couldn't even last 10 minutes watching Evil Dead 2 (you may laugh, but its true)...because he is innocent and has not been desensitized

Conditioned!
