One of my favorite commentaries!! They're better when they're lively, and the people are actually together in the room. I hate commentaries that are cut together audio clips.
I know the official statement is that DBD is a sequel, but I've never seen it that way. To me it's a remake. Maybe not even that, but a different spin on the same story. I guess I refuse to believe that even Ash would be stupid enough to go back to that cabin. And with his second girlfriend named Linda?? :lol I don't that Sam says difinitively either way in the commentary. I know he says something about Ash being stupid enough to go back but, as is usually the case with Sam, it's nearly impossible to tell if he's joking or not.

tru dat!! yes, some of the best commentaries ever! i actually thought bruce campbell's commentary on the first evil dead was even funnier.

and yeah, i agree, that even if sam raimi himself claims this is a sequel, it definitely FELT like a remake. yeah, Ash is pretty stupid... but THAT dumb? "lol

I need to check out the commentary on ED. The best commentary I have heard was John Carpenter and Kurt Russel on the Thing it just felt like sitting down with 2 people who enjoyed the movie as much as you did.

The Evil Dead comics are pretty good...

Marvel Zombies vs The Army of Darkness was pretty damn funny...

Then you should definitely check out the Evil Dead 2 commentary! The commentary by Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr and Kevin O'Connor for 'The Mummy' is also excellent for those reasons. I also enjoy John and Debra on 'The Fog' a lot, too. OH! and check out the Bruce Campbel "in character" commentary on 'Bubba Ho-Tep'! :rotfl

Bruce Campbell said that he was fine with a remake but he just asked that the character of Ash remains out of the movie that way that is just his role.

It's not going to happen. At least not within the next few years.
Of course, I could be wrong but I doubt it.

I understand that like it's impossible to get the rights for the original ed to make a figure or statue but if that's the case then why don't we commission one? We could have figures if we did that.

Dudes I only hope that Its on screen full out gore and no CGI crap We all know how much Sam seems to like his CGI... (spider-man 3) Awsome my first post!

Anyone else think if they do make this into a remake that Nathan Fillion be the new Ash. He just seems perfect for the role. He's like a modern day Bruce Campbell.

I actually saw an interview with the Chinman where he stated that though it was discussed, Raimi wasn't interested in making a sequel or a remake because "the man's making mad Hollywood cash" and neither Raimi nor Campbell (who's getting paid handsomely for Burn Notice) are hurting for money. Should that time come, both would be willing to consider their options.

Remake? I thought ED2 was already a better remake of the 1st one??? Why make a second remake of a remake?

To me, Fillion isn't manic or crazy-looking enough to be Ash. But honestly, I don't think anyone could possibly do Ash except Campbell, because he is one of a kind, and he is Ash. A remake with someone else would be dumb.

well, i know Bruce has said he will never do another ED movie.
that's a deal-breaker for me. if he isn't Ash, i'm not interested.

also, the Army of Darkness Vs Re-Animator comics were god damn awesome.

I don't ever want to see this redone! It's perfect the way it is. whats with hollywood and their need to destroy the classics? If they do remake ED I wont see it.

If they make the original ED for a 3rd time i wont bother with it. If Bruce is in another sequel then cool go for it.
