I passed on it when it first came out.

There's also the Srewhead Edition on blu ray.

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

I've always preferred The Evil Dead to both Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. The latter two films are great fun and I love them a lot, but the original Evil Dead to this day remains one of the scariest films I've ever seen. As a no-nonsense horror fan, I adore that film, and it's been a Halloween tradition in my home every year since I was a boy.

I've always been a little annoyed with the general cult bias that favors ED2 and AOD, as I've always found them to be inferior to the original. The Evil Dead had serious balls, and much like, say, the original Halloween, it was made by a passionate group of inexperienced kids with a budget that wouldn't have paid for catering service on a studio film being made at that time.

As for the remake trailer, I'm relived to see the gruesome, gory, and horrific tone of the original restored. The trailer has renewed optimism and even generated some excitement for me. Count me in.

Admit it, it's the Tree Rape scene that really does it for you. :wink1:

Tbh people are gonna hate it whatever they do and im kind of glad now they did not recast Ash and think it was a good move on there part.
The only way they should bring back Ash is for a sequel with Bruce playing him and nothing else.

I see lots of little nods to the originals including a possessed hand and a girl cutting it odd with a meat cutter.

I agree here with MW the original evil dead was made to scare and was banned on and off because of this. Some of us forget this as we are younger and when we watched it we did not take it seriously because of the special effects being every dated.
I think Bruce and Sam want to go back to there roots of the original as they purposely made the sequels funny and campy because of all the fuss over the first film.

I cant wait :rock

damn !!! the beginning is like cabin in the woods :D

thanks !! you are to kind !! :)
