Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

Still doesn't make you right. Expendables was Stallone's love letter to 80's action flicks and their stars, so it was intentional. And it worked for what it was supposed to be, as will the sequel. You should see something before developing an incorrect opinion and ranting about it. It'll make ya look smarter. :wink1:

i am straight:yess: love letters from geriatric steroid abusers make me quezzy but if it brings a nostalgic tear or has you reaching for the cleanex for one reason or another job done......gotta say he did look rather fetching in his black gear and bullfighters beard so can see where your coming from just have no intentions of going there myself......and please never ever wink at me again it can be seen as sexual harresment you dont want to end up on a list somewhere:lecture

Ghost House and Mandate Pictures are going BIG with their casting for their forthcoming remake of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead, which begins lensing this March in New Zealand.

Bloody Disgusting has learned exclusively that Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest, Mirror Mirror) is in final negotiations to play "Mia" in FilmDistrict's reboot aiming for release on April 12, 2013.

*Update* Mia is the LEAD, and is the female version of Ashley J. Williams (Ash), once donned by Bruce Campbell in the original trilogy. To reveal more would ruin the movie.

In this version, the story centers on five friends (David, Natalie, Eric, Olivia, and Mia) holed up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead with a demonic force unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival. As we also exclusively reported, there is a drug subplot.

As previously explained, David is a mechanic and is engaged to Natalie. Mia is the friend who is heading to the cabin to detox; Olivia is her best friend/nurse. Eric, presumably, is the kid who unleashes the demons.

After a recent overdose, Mia struggles with her new-found sobriety. She begins acting insane, so it comes as no surprise that nobody believes her crazy claims of coyote dogs and trees attacking her!

Fede Alvarez directs the redo of Sam Raimi's cult classic 1981 The Evil Dead from his own screenplay co-written with Rodo Sayagues. Revisions were done by Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody.

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

Oh good, if there was one thing I always wished Evil Dead had it was punch up from Diablo Cody.

A female lead just like any other horror movie ever :gah:

I have a feeling they may have done this to avoid a male lead being constantly compared to Ash.

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

Someone mentioned it somewhere , I think Johnny Knoxville would make a good replacement for Ash.

Good choice he would have been a great ash about ten or so years ago but if they are looking to remake the original the actor needs to be in his 20s.

I think they should re-release a special edition of Army of Darkness with the original intended ending then do a sequel to it with Bruce set years later with him still stuck in the apocalyptic future trying to find a way back with deadites in control of the earth.

That is a great shout mate! He would indeed be perfect.

I am not sure I am liking the idea of a remake however especially with a female lead :(

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

I don't wanna do spoilers anymore, the Dexter thread kinda ruined it for me. So I must officially pull away from spoiler threads.

Haven't they done this already, several times? :lol

I own the 2 disc Boomstick edition and it's got both versions :lecture

I know :lol

What i mean is a re-release with just this ending and do it on blu-ray to. Only got the s-mart ending in the uk, we haven't even had the 25th Anniversary Edition of evil dead 2 :(

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

The S-Mart ending is the best. So much badassness in that scene.

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

he needs to get his butt back to the cabin, only place where an evil dead sequel could happen

I dunno. The entirety of the first movie (save the drive up) was at the cabin. Same with the second, and that was mostly him alone.

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

so this project just got lame to the Extreme level?
I see no way this will be good, no way at all

get an unknown director,
add a drug plot,
cast Lily Collins (WTF) as the lead....
Great, this is going to be worst than AVP:R I mean, add on top of that the ridiculous amount of CGI this will have..
even with Raimi in there, not reassuring at all,

Re: Evil Dead Remake (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

The only way I would see this movie is if they made it a quasi-sequel. What I'd want to see is new kids going up to that same cabin and finding the book and the recorder. The teens unleash the demons get possessed, yadda yadda. Then at the the end cameo Bruce as Ash makes his way back to the cabin after chasing that damn book all these years. He arrives just in time for a vortex to open and get sucked in screaming "Not again!"
Don't think it would happen but who knows this is Sam here so its possible.
