DOOM is all that matters. If he sucks, The movie will suck
That's probably true... although this movie looks to be very far down the suck path already.
Who's playing Doom?
On a side note: when did modern directors become so whiny?

A real Rock'n'Rolla...Who's playing Doom?

Koba was awesome. One of the best villain of the 21st century for me.
there's plenty of good superhero movies with un-memorable mediocre villains.

Stane was a fantastic villain.
The notion that you would be okay with an unmemorable, mediocre DOOM is telling. Alas. I think Kebbell will deliver a captivating performance. It's not his acting I'm worried about. It's the writing.
Guardians was awesome but Ronan sucked and that didn't reduce the movie imo
Last really great villains was Ledger's Joker and Davy Jones. I can't remember a good one since. The focus has been more on the heroes.
Are you excluding Fury Road???
I was trying to be recent but not current. I love Fury Road as you know but I'm on the fence if I would call Immotan Joe a truly great villain. He looks the part that's for sure, but I'm not sure he was a great challenge for Max as villains go. He's no Wez, that's for sure. Wez is a top notch villain... but that's a long, long time ago.
First time I saw Wez was in Weird Science
I wouldn't wish for it but it's not the be all and end all of the movie being good as a whole for me.

Isn't Thulsa playing Doom?
See, I'm not wrong about IJ's lack of challenge.
He was playing chess in the desert bored not knowing what to do with himself.
They should've had him catch and torture Max then Furiosa comes and rescues Max.
Guarians is...ok. Ronan was mediocre and that absolutely reduced the films greatness. There's really no interesting conflict in that film. I know the team coming together is intended to be the central one, but that conflict could have been much more interesting if Ronan himself was...more.
Jye...this is a joke for the witty history books.
I would have liked IJ to be more of a hands-on type villain and more of a direct threat to Max personally -- at least have a good hand-to-hand in a speeding car.
Even though he was a frail dude, he could have nitros'd himself up with his Bane mask and went wild in a final fight.
