Quick update on the home front:
Ma is still in the hospital, but is moving out of ICU today. She will need a heart catheterization sometime soon, but as she is recovering from what appears to be a too high dosage of blood thinner, that is what caused the bleeding in her kidney, she has to come down from that, and let her blood thicken to her normal therapeutic levels. She has to keep it thin for her artificial heart valve.
And, get this, she got a staph infection in her nose, after a swab they found some, and she probably got it from the oxygen hose she uses, or something, not sure yet. Anyway, she is still in isolation even in her new regular room today.
That's Ma.

My dad had a nasty run in with a TOTAL JERK yesterday. Get this! He is leaving from seeing ma at the end of one of the visiting sessions, (they are limited in ICU) and is out in the parking lot, backing out with the car, and has a minor fender bender with a young guy. Dad gets out, commences to apolgize and the TOTAL JERK gets in my dad's face yelling and insulting him, right down to where Dad was saying "look I have a sick wife up in ICU" and the guy says, and I quote "I don't care about your G**D*** wife!" and other unkind stuff. The guy was about 25 or so, 6'2+. BIG guy, picking on an old man.
And about the moment my Dad was ready to bash the guy, in ran 8 hospital security guys, and tackled the jerk, leaving Dad alone, and reassuring him, and calming the TOTAL JERK down. Anyway, it all ended ok, and they made the jerk apologize, and my Dad didn't wanna press charges, but it all scared the hell out of my Dad.

SO...on top of all else going on with us, we deal with that! It has been a week! I tell ya!

Ma is somewhat better today. Looks like they will keep her there til Thursday, to observe her kidney. It might be damaged, so it's all slow and easy for a while. Sat with her a while and we got along well. She's been dicey for a few days. I would be too.
Went out and ate with my Dad, who's taking all this hard also, then went and saw Wall-E again. had to do something upbeat and not at home for a spell. Little robot helped my nerves. Love that movie.
Anyway, back now, clearing up emails, and Pms and generally trying to get things back on track. Sorry about the constant derails around here.

So, hang loose for stuff soon. BACK TO THE BRUSHES! PRONTO!!!

Oh, and I am noting all this Joker head comparison stuff elsewhere around here....not missing that. I will be trying to get to those as soon as I can. The first set will be at this month's end, no matter what, started then anyway, so hang with me. I am paying attention to the details. Cannot wait to unleash all this new knowledge on those heads.

But, as you all know, got a few others to do first.

Patience! The boy must learn patience!

Great to hear you Mom is doing slightly better. Glad you and your Dad could get away for a bit and have some fun. Sometimes getting your mind off something, even in a serious situation as this, helps to coupe with it.

While I am painting on other heads, I am thinking about how I want to approach my next wave of these Jokers. I have thought and thought and looked at so many Joker images now, and I have a new idea about how I want to paint him. I am gonna try something when I get to them, and do one up the new way, for all to see, and get reaction to that. See if I am off in the head or not.
Anyway, I have his visage stored in my head now, no way out. Damn Joker!
Can't wait to release these ideas on an unwary public.

Anyway, other stuff is back in paint first.
Ma may be going back to the home tomorrow. Thanks all for the prayers. They work! I am grateful to you all.
Now to keep my Dad together.

Moving Ma from the hospital back to her retirement home today. She's doing better. Her side is sore, but still I worry some.
Quick stop off by the house so she could shower and get lunch here. Just updating all of you about her.
She appreciates all your kind words.
