HAHA YES! I had a TON of those old Marvel cards from when I collected comics. Sold all of those, my X-men cards and Garbage Pail Kids cards on Ebay about 2 years ago.

WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$ THAT WAS TO LIST!

Thanks for the horrible memory! :lol

at least you were able to sell yours man! i still have to see them all the time! hahaha.. but now that i've shifted through like hundreds and hundreds of display showcases, i find that you can actually put them on acrylic cases and use them as backdrops for our stats and figures! really puts a big punch to them! :banana

but still, UGH!!! remember those fleer flair marvel cards back in '94! i still can't believe i actually bought a box of those, and that was about $200 back then!

I think collectors of the 90's all collected the same crap. NBA cards, Marvel cards, Comics, McFarlane figures, and ugly SW Hasbro figures.

i wasn't even a fan of Star Wars to begin with, but i bought a whole bunch of stuff when episode I came out. darth maul, some loose vader figures, spent so much. nowadays, if your card ain't got any autograph or signature, it ain't worth $ H i *. :sick

OMG those cards were horrible.

They always had to try and trick you into buying them all though. Like they were now metallic, or there was a story, etc. Some of the art on those cards was just horrible.

The only two sets I enjoyed and still had no problem parting with was the Jim Lee X-men series and the Marvel cards (I have no idea what year or what have you) that formed a puzzle.

Nine cards to the puzzle, each one had a theme like the X-men fighting someone or the Avengers, and when you put them all together (the 9 cards) they formed the puzzle. Anyone remember those? If I remember right the art was pretty decent and I liked the unity idea of the cards instead of just the typical singular pictures.

and if i'm not mistaken, i think i still have those :rotfl

i kinda like the spiderman "page" though. x-men page sucked 'cuz i'm not really a fan of Ron Lim's art, but the 1st page was a Hulk i think, and that was niiiice..

can't believe i still remember :banana

my Ashley woods sdcc Betrtie. He's actually very awesome.. and my first in the line.. but then I switched gears and now he's lonely. I'm going to get rid of him soon to a happy home.

I'm a little burned out on some of my LOTR statues - mainly Galadriel, King Ellesar and Eowyn.....got them at a good price, but I'll still lose money when I sell them.

I regret buying most of my collection because I didn't really go high end until I got my HT TDK figs and now I realized how much I spent on Neca, Mcfarlane etc and I barely get anything back when selling them.

I recently bought a Go Hero Perseus nude body/head -- the body's all right, but the head is AWFUL! Bad paint apps, bad sculpt -- just plain ugly. I'm glad I didn't shell out for the whole figure. (And the thing that gets me is that the Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon figures both looked great -- what happened to poor Perseus?!?):(

There, I've vented -- I'm good now.

I have boxes and boxes of these 1977 star wars figures still in the packages..taking up so much space..wish I never got them...how was i supposed to know they wouldnt be worth crap now?

AvP:R Alien Warrior. Had it less than a day. Came home, inspected it, noticed the paint already peeling off, re-packed and returned it the next day.

I even regret it more than SSC Yavin Luke:duh

HAHA YES!

That series had some good art on it though, not all of it, but some. I believe it caught some of those BIG name artists before they went off on their own and still worked for Marvel. Didn't "MAD" do one of the puzzles?

Agreed.

You know though, for the time, McFarlane toys were so above and beyond what we were used to. I didn't have the knowledge of companies like Sideshow or Hot Toys, etc, so McFarlane was pretty great compared to a company like Toy Biz or someone.

I think there are quite a few people that could repeat the same story as you. I know I can...got 2 totes of McFarlane figures currently in my garage. MIB and I can't move them for even $.99 on Ebay.

Are you crazy?

No. But I understand your position. I know I'm in the minority here on this one but I just like the way the Marmit stands better. However, since I posted it that about a year ago, I have displayed my Medi more prominently. The only thing is, he has to be displayed with other Medis to look close to scale. I know Boba wasn't a big dude but next to other 1/6 figs he looks like a kid. Plus the armor around the neck on the MediBoba just doesn't sit right on mine. I am crazy, though. :lol
